Re: LG4 rebiuld

Those will work. The LG4 earlier than 1985 used dished pistons to get it's lower 8.5:1 compression ratio.

Here's a compression calculator--> http://www.csgnetwork.com/compcalc.html

There are a lot assumptions you will have to make unless you actually measure the chamber volume. I have yet to see a combustion chamber measure out identical to what they manufactures spec is suppose to be. Usually they are within one to two cc's though.

Re: LG4 rebiuld

Those flattop pistons with stock heads will get you right around 9.5:1 (9,5:1 is how you would write it!) compression. You're fine.

I wouldn't do 1.6:1 (1,6:1) rockers. It's not just the lift, it's also the fact it can cause the pushrods to bind against their alignment slots in the heads.

Get the right springs to work with that cam. Not that you will bind up the stock ones, but they will not have the pressure necessary to control the valvetrain with a more aggressive aftermarket cam in the higher RPMs. Comp 981 springs are what you want. They are drop-in replacements for stock. Reuse your stock valves, locks and retainers (even the stock exhaust-side rotator-retainers).

Re: LG4 rebiuld

Just for fun, English to Ukrainian then back to English:

Those aircraft carrier pistons with stock heads help you right at 9.5:1 (9,5:1, as you would write it!) Compression. You're right.

I would not 1,6:1 (1,6:1) rockers. It's not just in the elevator, it is also a fact, it can lead to pushers to link against its alignment slots in the heads.

Get the right springs work with this camera. Not that you'll associate stock them, but they will not have the pressure required to control valve with a more aggressive aftermarket camera at higher revs. Comp 981 springs that you want. They drop in replacements in stock. Reuse your stock valve locks and retainers (even the stock exhaust side rotator-brackets).
