Re: Part identification

That's a vac switch, not sure about '84 circuitry but I'd hazard a guess it's part of the cruise control or tcc lockup.

Re: Part identification

Well, its not made any difference to the running, so its coming out :-)
I am guessing as well, that as I now have no need for the ECM, that most other stuff on the firewall can come out. The Mass airflow stuff etc?

As i was working on the car yesterday, I discovered most of it wasn't connected anyway.

Have ya driven it lately ? If so , has the lockup in the torque converter worked properly ? I get the feeling that you have not driven it by the "its not made any difference in the running" statement and that your converter ain't gonna work right without that part .

Re: Part identification

I should clarify.... The vacuum tube wasn't actually connected to anything before i pulled it. It just had a t piece in the end. The relay thing was connected but I've got no idea what it was / is for.

Re: Part identification

Think I've worked it out.... It's the vacuum hose for the hood lourve thing.
Not sure if the relay next to it has anything to do with that as well though.

Re: Part identification

The relay next to it looks like 14039663. I believe it is the Throttle Kicker Relay or Idle Speed Control. Yes the two have a connection through the brn/white wire.

Cheers. I am guessing it is useless now that I don't have the computer hooked up?
