Procharged 383 running lean HELP!
Hey guys, first post here, I have an 88 camaro with an l98 383 stroker and a procharger. My problem is when im cruising around in it (0 boost) the wide band gauge says im super lean, like 17+, but when I open it up it goes super rich, like 10-. I still have the smog equipment on my car, but my cat is hogged out. The only thing left in the cat is the air pump tube. The morons who installed the wideband put the sensor after the cat. Is the air pump putting out enough air to fool the wideband into thinking the car is lean? Bored at work yesterday I pulled cylinder number two plug out and it was the usual tan color. Im not hearing any detonation or backfiring. Is there a specific cylinder on these cars that tend to run a little leaner than the others that I could possibly check? My car does run hot, but being in louisiana in this summer heat might explain why.. I think it being rich under boost is because of the fmu and 60lb injectors. You guys have any ideas? What are some other signs of a lean car?

What ecm system? Still stock tpi maf based ecm just with an fmu?
If stock ecm system, was chip tuned for the 383 motor?
Now if stock ecm with chip tune that still retains egr and smog functions, and air system is still hooked up, it very well could fool o2 sensor. With a fresh set of plugs, cruise around lightly then check plugs. If they are tan you are good and wideband is off.
Also double check wideband calibration, does it require a free air calibration like the lc1 kits do?

Ok, you have the blower works maf upgrade? If so it shouldnt need a fmu.
Smog pump/air system should blow into the header tubes and cat. Could disconnect the cat tube and see what happens. Should cap off the end however to prevent leaks
In all reality it should be logged and tuned for the mods live in person if not already done so. Boost tuning should definately be done in person on a dyno or track, but dyno is easiest to dial in first

Does it look like a stock tpi maf or is it different? Blower upgrade may have a larger diameter maf or different type, and if its inside the procharger piping then it sounds like a different maf.
Maf should control the fueling. Only way to change that is by tuning chip. Fuel pressure can change cruise air fuel but then it will skew wot fuel which is already way to rich

Car will work good once bugs are worked out. Cant slap stuff together and expect it to run by itself
