Can't ID Camshaft,......
All indications are that this camshaft is from an 85 TPI engine.
There are very few number/letters/ID marks that I can see. At 1 spot I see 'L11', in another spot I found 'GM3',.... and another #'3' after rolling the cam over, then I see the '0654'
I'm assuming that because the 4 digits shown in the pic are '0654' that this Camshafts' part number = 14060654.
* I've found the number '14088843' several times on this site as the part number for an 85 TPI Cam. That number is not found on this cam.
I can't find this part number (14060654) in the parts books or online. I found the number before it; 14060653 ( for 82-86 "H" engine), and the number after it; 14060655 ( for 83 '7' code, 84-85 "F" & "G" codes, 86 export with NM8, and 86 5.7 "8',....... But I can't find 14060654 anywhere.
Does anyone KNOW this Camshaft is ?? Does anyone know what the specs are on (what I think is) a GM 14060654 Camshaft ?? If I gotta' measure I'll figure it out, but If someone knows this cam Please post !

The part number GM uses for selling parts never matches the part number cast into the parts.
If it's an '85 TPI cam, then you don't want it anyway, and why run an unknown stick? It'll need new lifters anyway, so at that point you may as well go with one of the generic cam & lifter kits for $100. The 204/214 112 @ 107 422/444 grind is close enough to '85 TPI spec, but with better midrange.

Nothing stamped as opposed to the cast # you show?
The 071 stamped on this cam denotes it as the ZZ4 cam part # 10185071

Re: Can't ID Camshaft,......
On alotta castings like stock cams, the number that's cast into them, is the casting number (duh) not the finished part #. Often the numbers are real close, but obviously not the same, since the part # for an as-cast casting (the thing the part # is cast into) is different from the part # for the thing that it gets made into (such as a cam).
Might want to measure the width and the height of an int and an exh lobe, and compare the lift you get to the various cams' specs.

Re: Can't ID Camshaft,......
Sorry - been away from the web for awhile !
True, I'll need new lifters - but why spend $$ I don't need to spend on another similar cam when this one is fine. It's easy for expenses to get out of hand and I'd rather use my limited funds for other replacement parts like new rings, bearings, gaskets, ext...
There is nothing stamped on either end,... I did see "L11" near another journal and 1 other spot had "GM3" and then another "3" when I rolled the cam to the other side.
I never realized that !
If all else fails - that's my last option.
AWESOME,..... EXACTLY the first hand knowledge that I was hoping for.
Or a great replacement in a otherwise good LG4.
Thanx a TON for the info here guys, I REALLY appreciate the feedback !
may as well go with one of the generic cam & lifter kits for $100.

If you search online you will find the GM part # is 1 or 2 digit different from the number cast on the crank

john i pulled that same cam out of a 84 305 from a trans am g code
they make a great wheel stop

Re: Can't ID Camshaft,......
HEY, I just discovered this same camshaft was in our 3g Camaro Chumpcar. This cam worked great for us and all we have are headers, roller rockers, aftermarket Chinese intake and an old Edelbrock 600. Idles smooth and seems to have good torque. There are usually at least 100 cars in our races and the old Camaro is always in the top 25 speed wise!
