Re: cruise control

Gonna need a better description or pics, complete sentences help too. Is this cable on the interior? As in coming from the gear selector and over to driver side under the dash?
That would be the shifter lock, to keep the car from being shifted when the key is not on.

Re: cruise control

Probably one goes to throttle body .... there another that goes to a vac plunger up in the front corner, usually driv side.

Is it one of these ?

Re: cruise control

It mounts to the column with two screws if I remember correctly. I can't find any images that will help you here. Hopefully someone can chime in.

Re: cruise control

The best I can do for now. The "white" mount on top of the column above the dimmer switch.

Re: cruise control

Shifter lock out. The piece in the picture houses it. You will have to drop the column and remove the dimmer and ignition switch it is mounted to. Mark the position of the screws you remove with a sharpie to make the adjustment easier in reassembly.

Re: cruise control

Totally unrelated to the cruise. The dimmer is below the circled part, the ignition switch is above it in the pic. It mounts to the ignition switch, but the dimmer is mounted on top of it. You just need to remove the two 13mm nuts that secure the column mounting bracket to drop the column.

That is, assuming from your pics the hush panel and trim under the column is already removed.

Re: cruise control

Going to use my powers of intuition to say your next threads will be "need shifter lockout housing" and "how to adjust dimmer and ignition switch"

Re: cruise control

It locks the shifter so it can not be moved without the ignition on as stated in my first post. The dimmer switches between high and low beams.
