Can anyone identify this wire?

Not the best pic but this head is attached to a green wire coming from the back engine wall in the center of the engine bay.

Re: Can anyone identify this wire?

But if that was true wouldn't that mean the fans wouldn't work because the wire is disconnected? Because the fans do work.

Remember , just as your fuel pump can run from either of two sources (the fuel pump relay controlled by the ECM and/or the oil pressure switch) , so too can your fans run from two sources ( the fan relay controlled by the ECM and/or the temperature switch that wire likely belongs to) .

Re: Can anyone identify this wire?

if its by the coil it could be for your EGR valve sensor or its for your mat (manifold air temp) sensor. if you have tpi its under the plenum.

Re: Can anyone identify this wire?

It is actually by the coil but I do not have TPI. I have a LT-1 manifold. Is this something that I should reconnect? The car has been running fairly well.

Re: Can anyone identify this wire?

1 do you have a mat sensor?
2 are you shooting any codes?
3 if it runs fairly well you may not need it. theres alot of things you really dont need but the car will still run. my maf is disconnected and the car runs great so plug it in see what happens if it runs worse disconnect it. im using my 87 iroc as a reference so im thinking there is a similarity.

Re: Can anyone identify this wire?

Dgreen87 can you give me an idea where exactly I can plug that back in? The location of the "outlet" so to speak.

Re: Can anyone identify this wire?

ok if it is the EGR vavle sensor it should be a single wire that connects into a nut so to speak that is screwed into the EGR itself, look for the EGR and youl find it if its not that look for the mat sensor on the intake and plenum it has to go somewhere. just out of curiosity what motor did you have in your t/a before you did a swap it could be for a different motor.

Re: Can anyone identify this wire?

haha ok then your looking for a conection that doesnt exist i kept going through my books on where this goes on a lt1 and then i relized GM put the wire there for a different motor. a different motor needs different sensor. i seriously doubt you need it im guessing it was for the tpi

Re: Can anyone identify this wire?

I believe that is the o2 sensor wire that attaches down by the manifold but i could be mistaken...

Re: Can anyone identify this wire?

its not an o2 connector, the connection in the pic is by the coil in the top of engine bay. if it was the o2 it would be much lower like by the exhaust manifold or cat. he's done a swap from a tpi. the tpi EGR valve sensor uses a connector like this.
