Fuel pressure readings

Hey guys, so my 305 tpi has a surging idle, I have to feather gas to start it, while driving I have to give it almost full throttle to make it up a hill. I tested the fuel pressure and my readings are:

47psi with the pump priming, 41psi idling and when the motor bogs down it jumps up to around 47-50 psi until the idle corrects itself again, when I rev it the motor hesitates and the pressure jumps to 50 and then drops to 41 when the rpms climb, in gear the pressure shakes at 145. once the keys off the pressure stays around 48 and drops very slowly. Can anyone make any conclusions off that?

Goes up to a steady 50psi on a wide open throttle run

Re: Fuel pressure readings

Maybe nothing to do with fuel pressure . unplug mat and see if that stops surging.

Re: Fuel pressure readings

Your fuel pressure reads seem ok, the reason its fluctuating at idle is the vacuum going to the regulator is fluctuating.
I'm thinking a stuck open egr valve & clogged cat converter.

I don't have a cat and I think it has something to do with the egr as well, I replaced the tps sensor and the cars running a lot better, I'll give it a week and see how it's acting before I take the plenum off and replace the egr

Re: Fuel pressure readings

You've got to reset the tps when you replace them. The holes are slotted for that reason.
