hey guys I got a new project to work on its a 89 IROC 305 tpi well this is my first encounter with this type of set up, this car would not start with the maf plugged in but would unplugged, so bought a maf sensor and car still wont start with the new one is there a way to test the maf did a search and haven't found anything. Or are there other things to look for ? thanks.

if youre going to work on it yourself,i suggest you buy a factory service manual. and the first thing to NOT do is buy a MAF from auto zone. try replacing the MAF relays. and yeah. check the codes first. but if it will run with the MAF unplugged ,but not with it connected . I would suspect the relay is bad

Re: new maf and still wont start

make sure the wiring connector is making contact, with it running , wiggle the connector on the TPS .if it stumbles or suddenly runs well, you have your answer
