Oh I forgot. I'm putting a set of Flowtech ceramic coated shorty headers with their "Y" pipe that bolts to the factory exhaust.

Re: Regular plugs or shorty header plugs?

You may not have any issues, unless you specifically have heard of issues with those headers. My stock L98 heads/ACDelco plugs had miles of room with my SLP headers. ....my new aluminum heads with the re-aligned plug hole, not so much, lol. Went with Autolite plugs.

I was going to use ac delco's unless there's a better one found through experience. Also since I'm using Vortec heads, I guess I should get plugs for a 96-2000 Tahoe, c1500, g10 van

Yup. I had always used "stock" replacements, but recently added new heads, and learned all about the different spark plug requirements, such as reach, temp, seat type, etc. etc. Honestly, I'd just search vortec head spark plugs and see what people like.

Re: Regular plugs or shorty header plugs?

I have stock heads and SLP headers. I had clearance issues with the stock plugs so I began using the shorter plugs that are used on the Chevrolet G20 van. I chose the NGK Iridium which have worked flawlessly.

Re: Regular plugs or shorty header plugs?

Did you do a Vortec head swap? How did you find out the G20 vans had shorter plugs? I guess the insulator part is shorter?

Re: Regular plugs or shorty header plugs?

I have the stock heads on my engine. And yes, the insulator part of the plug is shorter. I found out about the G20 van plugs while doing a search in the forums here on third gen.org.
