CS-130 alternator question PICS

I'm looking to replace this with a new chrome one. I want the same wiring configuration.

This is a cs-130 right?

Which ones will have that 3 wire connector?

Electrically what is the difference between 1 wire and 3 wire.

Re: CS-130 alternator question PICS

That looks like the typical external fan CS-130.

Most will have a 4-wire connector, one large and three small contact in the connector. The 10SI version had a flat 2-wire connector.

So every cs 130 should have that plug? With that being said can you tell if mine is of a 1 wire or 3 wire design?

Re: CS-130 alternator question PICS

that one is a 3-wire:2 to the regulator plug, and the output wire-all stock cs130s are like that, the "one wire"alternators are an aftermarket modification and only have the output wire.

Not sure, they may be clocked differently. I thought there were two or three different case clockings available.

Re: CS-130 alternator question PICS

I think there is a 12 and 6 o clock (straight), a 2 and 6 o clock (offset right) and a 6 and 10 (offset left). Im just trying to make sure they all have the same plug

Re: CS-130 alternator question PICS

All CS130s will have the same wiring connections. There are 2 different case lug/bolt hold configurations (the straight across one used in '87, and the one with the bolt holes about 120* apart like used on the serpentine and V6 setups). Those 2 cases could be clocked 4 different ways each, but that's easy to change.
