the 5.7 tpi that i am putting in my firebird came if the oil cooler
my question
is there a gasket in between the block and the oil cooler?
i don't remember if there was one or not when i tore the motor apart last spring.

i originalyl didn't put it in.. hhooooo-eee, did I ever have a bad oil leak! pulled it off, installed the gasket, no more leak

Gasket, eh? I know my Z71 has a gasket on its oil cooler and an rubber seal..but on the camaro.. it just a rubber seal ...
Is this a GM style cooler? what year car are you driving?

the 5.7 i bought came out of a 89 GTA and it has the stock oil cooler.
