1984 Trans Am smog delete
Im wondering if anyone has done this and can tell me what has to be done for the cars computer to read correctly and keep the car running right. I have a 1984 trans am 305 auto with the electronic quadrajet, the smog pump was disconnected when I bought the car and it would really make the engine bay a lot easier to get around if I could get rid of some of the emissions hoses. Any advice you have is appreciated.

I have an 84 like yours. I removed the smog pump, air tubes... only the cat remains, which was replaced with a non-air injected one. The rest of the engine is stock, including the ccc carb. The car runs great and no check engine light. Just take your time and plug all vacuum lines.

Those are for the air diverter valves.
DON'T CUT THE WIRES. You might regret it later. Or the next owner might.
Put some dielectric grease on/inside the terminals to protect them from corrosion and roll any unused wires up neatly. Use ty-raps to secure and tuck them away in an inconspicuous area. You might even want to slide the whole bundle into a plastic bag before you tuck them away.
