Where is the A/C compressor harness?
Where is the A/C compressor harness?
My car is missing the computer and harness and my parts car is also missing them but has everything for A/C.Is the harness for the A/C compressor in the computer harness?Do I need to find a computer and harness to run a/c?My car is a 1988 formula 350 that was converted carburetor and only heater box.

On my car (Originally a LG4 Carbed 305) it comes out of the passenger side fender by the HVAC blower box. It is a separate harness from the TPI engine harness.

Re: Where is the A/C compressor harness?
Correction. The HVAC harness comes through a grommet on the firewall directly below the heater core connections. About 6”-8” below the larger diameter connection. Atleast that’s how my 86 TA is, again a LG4 car originally.

I see that harness alot on ebay and have 2 here but they don't have any wires to the compressor? The come out the firewall below heater core and go to outside a/c box/blower motor/relay

Just looked, the two connectors at the compressor come out of the main driverside harness at the C100 connector that is shared with the headlight harness. It Ts out of that harness near the solo red hot wire that ties into that HVAC harness.
Edit: Note that on factory serpentine cars it might come out of that harness at a different spot.

TBI and "serpentine" and all that, make no difference whatsoever.
In the harness in your photo, the big round connector off to the right, goes to the low pressure cutoff sw on the accum/dryer. The connector(s) hidden behind the main harness, with the big red and the black wires in it, also has one or more green wires. There is a sub-harness in the main engine harness that plugs into that. The Big Red Wire in that group plugs into a wire that supplies hard battery to the blower motor high speed relay (the small black box mounted on the rusty bracket). That grey connector fails ruthlessly remorselessly relentlessly and inevitably. Advanced Search the forums for my userID and the phrase "burnt to ashes" for more details. The Big Black Wire in that wiring breakout also carries blower motor current and as such, also burns up, and needs the same treatment. The identical grey connector on the brown wire on the interior portion of the harness fails the same way and also needs the same repair.
To get from what you have to the compressor, there's usually only one green wire. Depending on whether you have a V8 or a 6-cyl it may go straight to the comp, or if a was originally 6-cyl, it may have gone to a pressure switch in the PS HP line, to give the poor suffering underpowered POS engine a break when turning the steering to the end lock by cutting off the compressor. A V8 doesn't need that so it goes straight to the comp instead. Being a Formula it would of course have come with a V8 butt who knows what might have transpired in all the years since then. No telling what might have happened to any/all of that in the process of "conversion". Whoever did that might have "improved" the car by leaving that part of the wiring out. Unfortunately it's already too dark out for me to look out from your monitor and see under your hood to diagnose how many degrees of sodomy they victimized onto the poor car.
