NO HEATER CORE HOSES??

92 Camaro 305 TBI

Im confused on my heater core not having hoses.
My heater control valve hoses run behind the engine block. Not sure if this is factory — can’t figure out what goes where. I have A/C.. just no heat.
Looking to finally add some as winter is approaching. What do I change? Where do I start?

Not sure why you think that; they're sitting right there, plain as day in the pic. Normal as can be.

Looks factory to me. Or at least, factory routing and all that, even if the hoses have been replaced at some point in their life, as often happens.

Follow them to their end behind the engine. The heater core hose nipples stick through the firewall right where the hoses connect to them.

Looks to me like somebody has very recently been working in the vicinity of the thermostat. First thing I'd suggest is, checking to see if they "improved" the car, by leaving the thermostat out. Obviously they "improved" things by leaving the coolant temp sensor out; wouldn't be a surprise if they left other things out as well.

I can see heater core through firewall but no hoses connected to it.. I will post where the hoses from heater valve are connected to. Do I reroute these or what?

Re: NO HEATER CORE HOSES??

Damn. ****'s been going on for a year!?

OP, your heater core is probably junk/leaking, which is why someone likely disconnected it. If you hook it up, it'll likely leak. If it's taken you a year to not hook two hoses onto your heater core, then the heater core replacement is probably over your head. Take it to a shop.

I barely drive her during the winter. So never really needed it. Just rather have it now.
& I rather learn my own car, shop isn’t a option lol

Re: NO HEATER CORE HOSES??

You can pressure test the heater core to confirm that it's bad before replacing it. Even though I'm 99% sure that it's bad, I would test it because replacing it is a PITA.
