Welcome aboard,
First give us some more info on what car you have and what engine you have. Stick or auto? If auto you might want to make sure you TC lockup is working properly.

Torque Convert lockup. When in OD the TC will lockup, it's almost like another gear, but if it doesn't unlock when you come to a stop in OD the car will cut out. This is just one possibility. Have you changed your fuel filter lately?
fuel filter could be a problem....... i changed it about 6 months ago however i have run out of gas twice since then i have heard that when you run low on gas or run out the fuel pump will pump all the sediment at the bottom of the tank, clogging up your filter... is this true? how would i test the tc lock up and where is it located? thanks for all your help!!

I preferably don't like to mix old fuel with new. Besides atleast that "stuff" will be clogged in filter instead of sitting forever at the bottom of my tank.
