I had a similar problem with my T-A, the pump was new and all new lines and all i got was a trickle out of the spray heads. I found the problem was a crack in the cap to the fluid tank and it cause the pump not to be able to suck up the fluid. I just drilled a hole in the top of the tank and pushed the hose down to the bottom. problem solved !!!!

I had a similiar problem. I suggest you suck the tube until you get fluid (don't swallow--yeah, yeah, I know), then attach to the pump. An unprimped pump may get hot quickly so use caution. At any rate, both front and rear washers now function on my IROC.

By the way, do the hoses correct to the pump in any kind of order? One in, one out?

iv primed the pump with water and a turky baster, just to see if it all go through,, the water goes through,, but still wont suck it in. You can hear the pump BARELY sucking. There are 2 things on the pump to attach the lines to,, i believe the botom one goes to the tank, the on on top of that to the lines goin to the sprayers( if i remember corectly) i have switched them around to see if the lines were switched....no luck....does the winshield wiper motor have anything to do with it?? the wipers work great........

don't forget that there are two types of washer pump systems on these cars... I know that 87 and prior the pump is connected to the wiper motor and in 88 or 89 the pump was moved to the washer fluid resivor...

have you checked for power to the pump??? or can you hear the pump turn on???

:lala:

I just had to try it

when i hit the switch, you can hear a click, and it wounds like its gonna work,, but it just does not suck. Iv pulled the plug going to the wiper motor and the pump (pump is in sided the wiper housing) and i got a reading on all of the wires. ...can it be the motor??????? iv tested the new and old pumps on a car batery. both of them kick over and turn the prop inside them.

ps.. its a 84

an 84.... hmmmmmmmmmm.... on my 82z, I didn't have the time or money to repair the original equipment washer system (road were shytty and I needed them)... what I did was grab a stand alone pump and tubing from wal mart or somwhere plugged it in and got back on the road... still works great... the only other repair that I have done was replace the whole motor assembly...

ps. it helps if you give a vehicle description ...

IF YOU WIPER MOTOR WORKS FINE, JUST GO TO THE JUNK YARD AND BUY A NEW TANK WITH THE PUMP ON THE TANK. THEN REPLUMB AND RUN RUN POWER WIRES TO THE NEW TANK. I DID ON MY TRUCK AND THE ONLY THING THAT CHANGED WAS THE PUMP RUNS ONLY WHEN I HOLD THE WASHER BUTTOM DOWN. IT DOES NOT CYCLE WITH THE WIPERS.
