What engine do you have? the sensors are different for each one. The one on the thermostat housing may be what releases the choke on a carb (with an electric choke) I had a vacuum switch in the same place on my '79.
The switch on the intake manifold sounds like a fan switch. That is, of course if you have an electric fan.
Time to go check the service manuals.........

what is hooked up to the sensors ?
thermostat + wires = coolant temp sensor for ECM
mainfold + vacuum hoses = emission system switch for exhaust butterfly valve on passenger side of motor below manifold.

A CCCS car should have 2 TVS's on it. One is for the EFE (exhaust butterfly, small vacuum lines) the other is for the EECS (charcoal canister, large vacuum lines)
The CTS is the only electric sensor in the coolant crossover.

yeah they both have 2 vacume lines on them. i am not running the butterfly flap cause i put headers on...and the other like ed said,, they are for the charcol canister...but which one?? im not running the smog pump cause i took all the AIR crap out, but still got the big canister right behind the drivers side headlight. i can post pics if needed.since im not running the butterfly,, can i cap that off then?
