got beat by a Mustang

Well it wasn't just any old Mustang, it was a white fox body convt with a full roll cage, FAT slicks in back and skinnies up front. As I pulled up to the light I could smell the race gas and as soon as I got next to him I could hear the supercharger. We were both second in line at the first light, when we got to the second light we raced from a 5mph roll and I had him beat up to 60mph and then he went flying by. We lined up again at the third light and we had a chance to talk, he had a built 302ci w/12psi coming from a Vortech SC and it was stick, he said he has ran 11.2 in the 1/4. We got to race from a dead stop this time, I spun a little out of the hole but it was a good launch, I didn't hear him spin at all, he was at my door untill about 65 or 70mph then he hit the next gear and he was gone. That is the fastest car I have ever raced, I just can't figure out what took him so long to pass me. I know my car is crazy out of the whole but this stang was supercharged. Was his car all HP and no TQ to get it out of the hole or what? Does anyone have any idea what took him so long to pass?

There are a lot of people that have cars around where I live that are just for fun, most of them run et streets and race gas once in a while. I know why I got beat I just can't figure out what took him so long to pass me.

exactly..my friend would do the same thing with me in his mustang. He'd roll with me up to 60-65 in my IROC then he'd hit the juice and nail it and he'd be gone. His car is running 11.7's too so I guess he could have taken my car on all motor. Even though my car was good for low 13's at the time..i miss the IROC..but must sell!

Just be glad he toyed with you. I raced a similar Stang (hatchback) he didn't play around, I knew I would lose, but I didn't realize by that much. He was so far ahead it wasn't funny. Later found out from a friend that the Stang runs 10s.

Why he is running race gas on an 11 second stang, I will never understand. It could easily go that quick on pump gas, and he is wasting tons of cash. He had to be toying with you, or maybe he almost stalled it!

Depends on his combination...

He may be running a near stock motor, which would require more boost and race fuel.

He must have been toying with me, I do the same thing with imports. I don't think the engine was stock it had a very choppy idle and he said it was built. I knew I was going to get killed but it was still fun.

If I ever got beat by a Rustang, I would take my head and stick it in my ***, Every Mustang I raced I beat, I beat a 00 SVT with my 92 Z-28.
MUSTANGS ARE CRAP.
I bet my intercooled turbocharged Dodge Shadow can beat alot of Mustangs

Full blown proof that you guys don't like and don't have faith in your Camaro's, MUSTANG'S ARE OUR ****EN RIVALS, My 0-60 time at the track for my Z was 5.83 seconds, I can't stand Mustangs, Everytime I drive past one, I just laugh

Heres something to think about (as sad as it is). August 2002 issue of Road & Track has 2003 50th anniversary Corvette and the 2003 SVT cobra 'Stang in it.

The Vette:
0-60.........4.9
1/4 mile.. 13.4
Skid pad..0.89g
Slolom......62.4MPH

The SVT Stang:

0-60.........4.9
1/4 mile... 13.3
Skid pad....0.90g
Slolom.......63.5 MPH

Why to go GM, let the Vette get shown up by a Mustang

Sorry to burst your bubble but 5.83 seconds to 60 isn't fast enough to take a supercharged Mustang I mean we are not talking about another car that has a 4 cylinder a Mustang does come with a V8 and is very easy to go fast. Also I don't consider the Mustang my enemy so don't use the word, our, it should be my. Not everyone shares the same views as you and you should never assume that they do. Also I have lots of faith in my car but I am not stupid and don't think my car is the fastest damn thing on the planet.

man you're an idiot..i'm sorry if I had to say it but it's true. I laugh when I drive by a car that has a fart can muffler an a 10 ft aluminum wing. When i see a 5.0 roll down the street with a healthy exhaust note I think it's good to see some american muscle on the street. 5.83 seconds..? haha keep dreaming your stang bait my friend. you're bait for my SHO on the highway

It's always a joke until they see the SHO's tailights. I'm not saying I'll beat ya from a dead stop but from 60-120 you're dead meat. I'd bet all 3 of my cars on it. I'm confient in your ignorance and very confident in my driving.

Yeah..................and then you woke up!
Dude, 2 weeks ago, I absolutley totalled a 98 SHO, So what makes u think you can beat me???
92 Z's are one of the fastest third gen's.
250 hp stock,
I have a hypertech power chip, dynomax catback exhaust, hooker headers, performance pulleys.
I am guessing I have around 280-300 hp.

uhh ok and my camaro has 1000HP. I don't have a slow 98. My car will be good for a high 14 when I take it to the track I can guarantee that. And it is much quicker at high rpms. I don't have the v8 SHO with automatic in a extremely heavy shell. My car has 220 HP with a 5 speed and a 3300lb car. I would mop the floor with you at high speeds. You would beat me in the 1/4 but i'll make your "300 HP" camaro look silly on the high end. BTW your car has about 270 FWHP in all reality.

They don't give 0-60 times moran. You mean 60 foot, then you have some serious driving to do. Since you go to the track what do you run???

I know of a near stock 1991 Mustang LX 5.0 that would probably take you in the 1/4 no problem, do you want to post some 1/4 times or are you scared of a MINOR bolt on stang!

I'll post his times!

He has a 1991 LX:

-K&N Filter
-Underdrive Pulleys
-Mac Catback
-3.55s
-Lift bars
-Shocks
-Driveshaft
-Quick Time Pros

With these mods he went.

.521
1.892
5.508
8.692
78.89
11.443
13.672 @ 99.51

Your turn to compare to the Mustang

I'm getting tired of people saying that one car is better than the other. About how they did this to the car and it runs this time, lets see if your car can do the same. Two cars that are exactly the same can perform differently. What we need to do is stop arguing about which is better and get along cause it ain't nothin but a preference. Oh yeah ricers don't count.

So what did you run at the track then? SO far you haven't even quoted a number that is on the actual timeslip. They don't measure 0-60 times. No offense, but who cares who's car is faster or who's ***** is bigger. You attitude sucks plain and simple.

And then he quotes the '87 2.8L V6 Camaro running a 15.1! But he has a 2.8L V6 himself and lists a time of 16.75 seconds.

Man are you &*%@ed up why is it that every time some one says the word mustang your panties bunch up?
Why do you have to lip off about how your "daddys" car is so fast? Buy your own car.

Wich is it ? Why dont you climb out of your crib and go get the facts from "daddy" about what is and what is not done to his car ?

Ya this guy has more stories than mother goose and walt disney combined. It's sad how people post about their parents cars and act as if they're theirs. I mean all those near stock 300HP 92 Z's out there..haha
