awww...... well it was my first race against a stang.. I see him at the light and I knew pulling up beside him i was toast, but I just had to see what my car would do. The light turns green and some how i pull about 2 cars on him... ( That is where the 4:11 gears shine) but my motor can't keep it going.. I stayed with him for about 5 seconds and then it was over..... but i figured he would have had me from the get go, so I was happy i caught up and he gave me a big wave and turned off.. It was a good race.

 

Yeah, I bet those 411s kill you on the top end.

 

Yep! You sould get a decent intake, carb, cam, and converter so you can use those gears.

 

oh man...that reminds me of my first race in my car...

a buddy of mine had the 88 mustang....and i had the 89 formula...hehe..mine is a 350 though

he beat me....he actually had done work to his car...i hadn't touched mine yet...but i only lost by about 1 car...today it would be different...


just thought i would put this..seeing as how it was 89 formula vs 88 stang...JUST LIKE ME

 

yeah I know the gears are no good to me with my setup now but i blew my other gears out and these were cheap with posi and installed so i was like what the hell.. someday I will have a real engine that can make use of them... but for now they will do...

PS - They suck for top end but they sure are fun down low...and the shift kit makes good use of them

 

As long as there are no hard feelings, I would never mind losing to a 3rd gen!!

 

How come more mustang drivers cant be like 5.0? most stang drivers i know think they are the coolest people in the world, granted i know several that are very cool, but most seem to be cocky, especially if they lose to a 3rd gen

 

well the guy that smoked me was cool... granted he did smoke me but he gave a big wave right before he turned off....

 

There are, but most of the cool ones don't street race, thet drag race. All the guys at my Mustang events are really cool and don't mind the GM crowd.

 

Maybe its because those Mustangs are so damn ugly!

 

I lost to my friends 88 LX. He was modded though. He had ported heads, long tunes, no smog, x-pipe, ford racing tranny, ford racing clutch, 4:11 posi, and ignition. I had no hope but it was a fun race anyways Plus we got it on tape
