Fast Intrepid???
Ok, here's the deal. There's this guy on my tennis team, and he always drives like.....well, a high schooler. And, everyday on our way to practice, he always 'tries' to race me. I know my 'Mighty LO3'
isn't the best, but I like to think it'll beat an Intrepid. I keep telling the guy, if you want to race, I'll race, but not up a hill (like he always tried to do), and not in traffic. But he always cuts me off, and it pisses me off. So, is there anything special about ANY Intrepid? I noticed it has white face gauges, but that could be aftermarket, right?

Based on a 98 ES Stratus, above base, has about 220 hp, and 222 fl/lbs torque, but it weighs a good 3500+ lbs, and is FWD. So they might get off the line with a little umph but would probally drop down after 40 or so, just my guess. Remember Dodge stopped making fast cars, except the Viper of course, and the turbo omni, and kit cars, a long time ago. In my oppinion Dodge=Great Beater.

The white-faced gauges indicate that it is an Intrepid ES. They have 225 horses, but more importantly, a nice, flat torque curve, peaking at 225 lb-ft. They're not going to take a serious performance car, but as far as large sedans go, it moves fairly well. Motor Trend pulled a 8.7 sec. 0-60 time and a 16.5 sec. quarter mile.

i drive a 95 es, its got the 3.5, and its not a bad piece, moderately fun to drive. i beat my friends 89 olds with a 3.8 by a few cars w/o traction control to 60. i also beat another friend in his 99? neon r/t 5-speed(he can drive) w/o tc to 75 also by a few cars. if hes got tc make sure he turns it off, other wise its not really a fair race. btw, my car doesnt have white face guages
hmmm.... today at Gateway Raceway is the annual Monster Mopar and my dad knows some people at the local chrysler and dodge place. They let him use a brand new 02 Stratus R/T to race. it only had 22 miles on it. It only ran 16.8 at 84mph. I don't know if that is b/c the engine hasn't been broken in yet or what. but that isn't "a quick car". i read on the internet that they were suppose to run 15.7.
I was checking out the Intrepid forum. They were saying that the Intrepid R/T puts out 244hp. One guy with an R/T had a couple of mods on his and was running high 15 second quarter mile time. This is about as special as the Intrepids get.

Thanks guys. He must floor it then, because he zips around me pretty quick. We ARE going uphill, and most of the time, I'm not trying. But, he goes like 40 in the parking lot, and slams on the brakes just before the curb. I think I'll get my girlfriend's dad (he's a cop) to set up a speed trap. hehehe We'll see who's faster, when he get's stopped!

DODGE INTREPID! Tennis team? I thought men play football in Texas! Wax that A$$, Dude! Strip your Camaro of all it's weight (Spare tire, jack, passenger seats, etc.). 1/4 of a tank of gas and practice your launches. Run him heads up kick his a$$!
