met a cool *****

I was on my way to get my flowmaster put on tonight when i pull up to a light next to a lowered 92-93 eclipse, tinted windows, stickers, fart pipe etc..he revved at me and i laughed but graciously revved back, light turned green and i killed him by about 7 cars, we pull up to the next light and he says hey that wasnt a fair race...i was thinking oh great another typical ***** excuse, so i ask him why and he says he only has 4 cylinders and that 4 bangers suck...i guess he got a good deal on the car and thats the only reason he has...just thought that was cool to meet a ***** that didnt have his head up his ***...

That's horrible, he should be able to do a lot better than that, I mean crap, my 4cyl Stang should be able to do that.

Don't underestimate the turbo dsms. They can be made very fast for reletively cheap. There is always several of them at the track when I go. Most I have seen are in the 13-low14sec range, with is nothing to take lightly. But with more boost, I have seen one smoke an ls1 camaro.

Something cool I've noticed about the DSM crowd is for the most part they all wanted an F-body or stang, but couldn't afford insurance. Lots of respect from them, but those honda loving weeners are obsessed with their turd economy cars and think they are bullet-proof. They lose frequently and always make lame excuses so I can't say I'm anti-import, I just think Hondas/Acuras are slow, ugly, rolling turds. Of course any car that has 6 grand put into its engine and only sheds .5 seconds off it's E/T like my friends Prelude Type SH(it) is crap. But my friend recognizes he'd lose to me every time we race so he just quit trying

Well I love Honda motorcycles. i own two. Honda makes the ****in ballsy bikes in the world. They are so well engineered its makes harleys look like ****. I love harleys too, but its funny to talk to so many harley guys that realize their bike leaks oils, slow, stuff like that but its a harley so they have to have it.

turbo civics here run a best of 13.8, kinda lame for a car with 8 grand in additional mods and no power steering (removed for turbo clearance lol). But then again anyone who puts 8 G into a honda or wastes their time turboing it is lame. And giving up power steering to contain torque steer, they can't handle for crap now, as if they could before lol. That's really great running high 13s and all, but for 8 grand into any of our cars, we'd all be running low 11s or less.

Everyone has a different perception of what is fast. I never go around bragging about the things I did to my engine and how fast I can go. When people ask if my car is fast, I say,"it's faster than when I first got it," which is true. I could not even chirp my tires before. I think my car is slow and I tell people that. I like it when people admit to thier car being slow when it actually is. Some cars out there will suprise you though!

How fast do you guys think is fast (quarter mile and 0-60 mph)?

if he put 8k into a motor he didn't know what all he was doing.

you can spend 8k on your motor I'm sure and make it only run high 13's as well

it all depends on what parts you buy and how much you know of what you are doing. and if you do all your own labor and what not

the car I was talking about was racing a camaro SS. all in all the camaro took the line but the civic held his own and started to pull on the SS...

not bad if you ask me but this guy knew what he was doing. bought the right parts did the work on his own....

if you ask me you seem to get the whole import thing mixed up...

if it's honda that means rice and spend lots of money to make it go slow

remember there is a difference between rice and import even with a honda

I agree that most honda engines suck. The only one that gets any respect from me is the NSX engine. Honda engines have amazing HP/LTR output and great high revving action but they dont have much potential. I've never seen one on the street with more than 350 hp. I mean 350hp is alot but when you consider what they spent (like mentioned above) thats pretty pathetic. Plus add on that most Honda drivtrains (Accord, Integra, Civic) can only handle 350 hp before the axles break, it seems as though Honda matched the cars capibilities up pretty well. To make it even worse, when you get into F/I (only real way to make power with small displacement engines) Hondas variable valve timing system Vtec screws everything up. Thats right you have to disable the much loved Vtec. Toyota dosnt have that problem with VV-Ti!! You know why? Because Toyota designs cars for performance. Honda designs cars for economy (well any Honda in the US at least). Out of all the import manufacturers, Honda gets the least ammount of respect from me.

Honda makes V6s too. I have never seen one though. The ones in the Acura CL and Sedans are pretty powerful, but they are expensive as well.

Lol that reminds me of some funny **** earlier, i didnt have ne gas so i rode along with my friend that has a *****, he has stickers and everything, we were cruisin the local spot and stopped in traffic when this guy walkin asks him how much power the stickers add...it was funny as hell cuz my friends like the blue=500hp and the little ones are worth 50 each, it was cool cuz he knows his car is slow and he actually has the ***** to joke about it..

8000 grand and only a best of 13.8, that's foolish, especially giving up power steering for high 13s. most people on this board would put around 1000 into their cars and get better results. Just the same, you said he pulled on a new SS? I've seen idiots at the track with New SS's running 14s all day cause they can't launch or shift for their lives. The guy with the turbo civic knew what he was doing as well, but all the parts and the new forged internals to handle boost came up to a grand total of 8 grand. I don't think it would be possible for a third gen owner to put 8 grand into their car, especially in their engine and run 13s because of the incredible amount of high HP crate engines, rebuild kits, and performance parts that all cost much less.
