problems with 03' Cobras?
ok, ive been browsing LS1.com and corvetteforum.com, as well as a few other sites and posted all over them is info about the 03' Cobra production run being stopped! apparently people are having compression and cat converter problems, and i think some mentioned overheating as well, and Ford is going to halt production and go back to N/A after this year. seems like alot of 03' owners are bolting on speed parts, but not doing any tuning, and beating the crap out of these cars. then when problems arise, they convert back to stock and complain.
can any of you Stang guys shed some light on this subject? is the charged Cobra going to be a one year only offering?

2 1/2 weeks to fix an assembly line problem...I don't think it's that big of a deal. After the fiasco of '99, I don't think SVT will ever let another bad product out the door. I have to applaud Ford for catching a problem and taking care of it before another huge disaster. Don't forget guys...auto makers have recalls all the time. This is no different.
Don't get carried away. From what I've read, the production was not halted because of complaints of overheating, cat, or compression problems.
According to SVT none of the defects made it to the customers. This, supposedly, will not affect this year's batch of 12,000 at all. Furthermore, the 2004 Cobra, as it stands, will still have a supercharger. From what I've learned since 99, though, SVT isn't sure what will happen with the cobra until the month the cobra is actually released.
