why do all the ricers beg to get a lesson in v-8 power???

theres a few kids ive talked to that say a N/A 4 cyl can beat an 8cyl my car has the L98 series motor in it with a few bolt on mods, like headers, gutted kat, and 3 inch flowmaster cat, back, accell supercoil, wires, plugs, i even have the ram air hood with functional intake box which comes with a preformance MAF to go with it, and a few kids still insist that a 1.6 ltr integra, or civic N/A remind you can beat me with there little cold air intakes, and 1 inch katbacks into a 5 inch outlet muffler whats up with them they just put like body kits on there cars so they think they are fast...ive learned that just because it doesnt look fast doesnt mean it wont humiliate you and make you cry from rubber and high octane exaust fumes i just want to know if anyone can tell me what they are thinking

they are just sniffing too much N.O.S. Actually they probably say that because they could beat my 8 cylinder. Where in NJ are you from by the way?

thats exactly correct....my 88 beretta is a 2.8 V6 and i can beat (not humiliate but beating is pretty much humiliating them) early 4th gen V6's and even the newer six stangs...and when i do i make sure im on the left so they know that 1. im an automatic....and 2. they can see the big dent in the car where it was side swiped...killed by the beretta with the dents oo thats gotta hurt...

they like to act hard!!

"buying a three foot wing will help make me go faster and look cooler!!"

some just like to act like hard a$$es with their girl in the car, but they definitely dont look cool when i beat them..

heres a quote from a girl in a certain rice boys car, "honey why did he past you when you were racing him!"

the answer is that the stickers and wing did not add the 100 hp he though they would...

some ricers really beg when they tailgate you and pass you inches in front of your nose!! i dislike those alot...

girlfriends can be real instigators when if comes to races.
one night I pulled up to this 4th gen firebird (V6) at a light, that was making alot of noise in a parking lot about 10 mins before (burnouts and stuff) , the girl takes one look at my car and starts to talk $hit, even to the point that her man would get out of the car and beat the $hit out of me.
All i did was laugh at him/and her, (he wasn't even looking at me) I didn't race him because about one light later the cops were waiting for him because of that stunt that he pulled in the parking lot. lol.
sucked to be him.
funny thing she didn't know what i had, even though i had a big IROC on my door!!!! she was like "what do you have under the hood?!?!?!"
I was like V8, 350 HP!!!! (yea i know that was BS but she didn't know that and i didn't plan to race anyway)

A Beretta beating a new V6 Stang?? Unless the driver of the Stang sucks, they can pull mid 15s.

and yeah seriously man thaty 2.8 MPFI was the rat engine that crapiest motor, i would take a 2.5 iron duke 4cyl over the 2.8 and trust me i seriously doubt that 6 cyl stang was trying, nor the 6 cyl camaro, because those f-bods have 3.8's and those still give the car quickness, still nothing like the gut wrenching LS-1 but its stil fun

Well I'm going to have to agree with hndsm17 on this. The late model V-6 cars will most definetly beat 2.8's. They will also beat 305 TBI cars. The race with a TPI 305 can be close edge going to a manual 305 TPI. Yet again the 350 TPI cars will wax the new V-6's.
Also agree with the LS1 comment only it's not the amount of torque the LS1 has just the large range it produces it in.

Ok your telling me you beat a new (2002) V-6 Mustang with an '88 TBI, . Dude that car has you by 23 horse and about 200 lbs. The torque is your advantage by about 25 but both of these numbers and brand new numbers for your car, and I'm sure it's got some miles and more miles = >hp. So I really doubt you beat him unless he doesn't know how to drive. I'm sure that if John force had both cars on the strip the 2002 V-6 Mustang would beat an LO3 F-body.

WEll guys he said EARLY 4thGen v6's which would be the 3.4's.
And the 'Newer v6 stangs' Which he probally ment the newer body style (after the fox body)....
He said newer, not new, so thats not a 2002...

Well I'm gonna have to disagree with you on that. My mom has a 2.8l 89 beretta GT, its what I learned to drive on back a few years ago. and well....its not fast, but it is faster than most imports and I'd be willing to guess that it could possibly run w/ earlier v6 4th gens.

Its not nearly as fast anymore, its about to die ( no oil pressure at idle, bad tranny, etc) I dont even give it more than like 1/2 throttle now, but yeah, at least the 2.8 GT's arent as bad as some think.

thanks man...these people on the board treat my beretta like they would treat it on the street with ignorance...but not knowing that my car is actually fairly quick....i know a few people on this board and i know my beretta will take a few of these thirdgens on this board....

WEll guys he said EARLY 4thGen v6's which would be the 3.4's.
YUP YUP YUP...the 94-96 model fourth gens give me a damn good run and its all in the conditions baby.....but as for the "newer six stangs" your correct i know **** about stangs but i know for a fact the six cyl stang i ran and beat was the one with the ugly horizontal lights.....dont know what their platform is ( ie foxbody...f body...)...but like i said i dont know too much about those stangs....160,000 miles and it runs like a baby...got the TLC she needed from an old lady up till 3,000 miles ago and ive been breaking her in like shes supposed to...she runs like she got 90,000 on the od

I wasn't referring to the stang as much as the 3.8 camaro's and firebirds

Actually i have recently raced and beat many (newer) V6 camaro's; And i have also raced V6 stangs(1999 i think) and they do beat me but only by like a 3/4 car lenght up to 70 or so and he was a 5 speed. They aren't that fast, like 15 sec. cars. I dont know what my horses are as a fact but i do know that i have not ever lost to a third gen camaro or firebird with a V6 and have never lost to another LO3 in all of south OKC area and it still has 123k on the clock!

i race every week at gateway raceway and there is a 99-00? v6 mustang v6 auto. the best it ran was a 16.6-16.7. There was also a 2000 firebird 3.8l auto. it was running consistant 15.5's. both were stock, so i don't know where you guys are getting your numbers.

I got a 91 camaro 305tbi 5-speed with a homemade open air element and a gutted cat and i can wax 6 cyl mustangs and camaros, new and old it doesnt matter. i waxed a mustang the was a "low 15 second car" that had flowmaster chip and some other . point is never under-estimate the CHEVY CAMARO!!! and my camaro ran a 16.2 when i first got it on a 106 degree day, with a plugged cat, dirty throttle body and bald street tires.

I have taken a 98-up 3.8 firebird when I had my 2000 M5 3.8 stang. It weighed around 3100lbs, 190hp with 3.27 gears,was a quick little car.
