well i was following my girlfriend out to her house in the country last night just cruising listening to some kutless(cool band) , well i was driving along at about 60 mph, and out of freaking nowhere there is a deer in my hood. It suprised me pretty good but i caught up with my girlfriend, and got her to pull over. I didnt see this thing come from anywhere, i mean i saw it for a spilt second as its blood splattered on the windshield.I didnt have time to hit the brakes at all so i plowed this thing at 60. Well the damage is as follows:
1) hood is toast
2) nose is toast
3) drivers side fender is toast
the windshield isnt busted which i was happy to see, the car is still drivable, but not by much . It tookl out the head light bezel on the drivers side. heres what i am relieved about
1)no busted radiator
2)no leaking fluids
3)fenders still line up at the doors
4)i am alive (i could have been less fortunate at the speed i was driving)
Sorry mods if this is the wrong board, just wanted to tell everyone to take it slow at night, ecspecially right before and after light.
Also if any one has a good later RS front nose, in the central VA area let me know, im going to try to get RS ground effects for it and one of those CERVINIS hoods. Well it will be a while before i can afford to ix it so there wont be any more street racing stories from me till prolly next spring. But ill stick around.
Oh and this is what my car looked like before

yeah it rally sucked to have to drive it every day, but im going to try to find a beater car that runs good so i can save up to fix it. I really want to go ahead and sawp engines while its down and out. Hopefully ill have it back by track time next year. Well anyway just wish me luck guys.
just be careful man, i hit this deer at a spot where i had never seen a deer before. I was in the right lane next to a hill, and i guess she just flew over the hill. Oh well no use crying over spilled milk.

Sorry to hear that. Where'd you hit the deer at? I plowed through one on 288 one night...not a pretty site. My cousin had an RS with a good body and no title a while back that he wanted to sell for $300. I'll check and see if he's still got it. Is insurance going to take care of it for you?

2 summers ago, prior to the severe construction that has since taken place on my car......
im driving home minding my own business i was about 1 mile from my house driving past a local apple orchard, when BAAMMMMM!!!
I drilled this POS deer, it lands on my hood then falls on the street. strangely, as shocked as i was i was instantaneously filled with rage and i jumped out of the car.... i was gonna f*ckin beat this thing senseless but it got up and started running away!
i chased it into the orchard for a few hundred feet, but needless to say deer can boogy so i didnt catch it.
in hindsight it probably would have f*cked me up anyways lol
wrecked the hood, the bumper cover, the lip piece, the headlights etc

Deer can really mess your car body up. I've seen some pretty decent damage from deer. I've seen cars ripped in half from moose though.
TunedPort, how does your steering feel now? You should make sure that nothing was damaged steering related, maybe stick your head underneath and take a look.

Don't feel bad..I live in Indiana and the deer are just everywhere right now.I was crusing about the same speed when i saw a deer run across the road...then I slowed down and stoped & what do ya know another one runs across the road!
no, insurance is not going to take care of it.... all i can afford on it is liability and that is 170 /month. Nic ask about that rs , that would be great. I hit it on highway 501 in lynchburg, va. And iroc22, the alignment seems a bit off, its pulls to the left a little more than it used to. I'm hoping that i can pick up used parts and have then frame straightened on it.(little buckle in the front) What sucks the most is 2 1/2 years ago, i wrecked it goofing off. Well i needed a new nose, ds fender and hood. Well guess what all i need now!!!! thats right everything i just replaced. talk about luck. Well anyway im hoping to find a hood for about 50-75, i already have a fender, and i need a nose. The frame work and putting on the body stuff will prolly total a little over 1,000. But im not going to have it painted as soon as i fix it. Im going to save and get the hood pictured below. So as soon as i get it fixed ill let you guys know, in the mean time im going to be driving some beater car. lol

Comprehensive is only a few extra bucks a month...the way I look at it, you can't afford to NOT have it. When I hit the deer in my hatchback, the insurance company cut me a check for $2600 the very next day.
Why is yalls insurance so high? I'm paying $90/month for both of my cars combined

i dont know what the rules are in other states, but my insurance is that high because i have alot of speeding tickets and some other stuff.
also, comprehensive isnt that much money, but around here comprehensive is all your glass and paint and stuff like that...
collision is a whole different thing, and thats what costs the money
i think insurance is more expensive in massachusetts than any other state, and if its not its like the top 5

i was never told that there was a comprehensive, when i left from my parents policy they(insurance company) never told me that there was a medium between liability and full coverage. Oh and my isurance is so high because i have a reckless driving speeding ticket and a failure to maintain control of a vehicle ticket, but they are cleaned off my record this summer. Im debating buying either an ls1 f-body, or another (l98) iroc. and putting mine in the yard, with a cover over it, until i feel like fixing it, im just really discouraged with the car right now. But ill keep u guys informed.
Deers aint nothing, one day, i was with an older guy(40's, im only 20 now), and we hit a 1/2 ton quarterbreed horse at 60 MPH, didnt even see it in the road, was out in the country, came up over the hill, it was dark, saw a truck in the ditch with flashers on, we saw that, looked ahead, horse, SMACK, sent that horse flying, we literally came to just a complete stop, pushed the front end of this OLD F350 in about 8 inches...i didnt have my seat belt on, and just stayed put right in my seat, didnt move, didnt fly forward, nothing, it was just like over hill, smash horse, we sat there, anyways, the horse got sent flying about 20 feet, and then got up and ran away, they recovered the horse, and it was fine...
Well i certainly know that damn feeling...i hit a deer with the Olds Delta Royale....not fun....i was doing like 60-70 mph on a country road..yup you guessed it heading to my girls house...and what happened....Bam hit a deer....broke his front two legs...lol...it was funny because i guess it was in shock and it tried to get up and run away...well after 5 feet of a sudden burst of energy...yup it crumbled in pain...i surveyed the damage while the deer is twitching and i got so mad that the front end was bent in a bunch of inches....i popped the trunk..and took out the tire iron...ah what a feeling...anyway...it was driveable just had no headlights...(it was like one am)...so i figured the car totalled and liability doesnt cover it....so in the trunk goes the tire iron..and the venison...mmmmmmmm...victory tastes super sweet...
nope NEW JERSEY HAS THE HIGHEST INSURANCE RATES IN THE COUNTRY...how do i know this...I PAID 300 BUCKS A MONTH FOR BASIC LIABILITY ON MY CAMARO....NOW I PAY 250 BUCKS A MONTH FOR THE BERETTA....ARRRRRRRGGGGGGGHH FRICKEN JERSEY....LOWER THESE GODDAMN RATES, IM MOVING TO PENSSEY SOON SO I CAN GET 1-800-SAFE AUTO
Lowerin the deer pop. one deer at a time... Its shotgun season here in ill and i shot one yesterday in the back and it tried to get away with only two front legs welll needless to say it didnt have a face left after i had to shoot it again from 5 feet away... Dont worry ill get rid of the pests
