Yeah tose aren't too terribly fast. The slowest was the 75, with a burly 155 horse power! If you have a moderatly quick car you should be able to beat the vette. I think they ran in the mid fourteens at thier very best, not sure though.

You ***. The 5spd cars are lighter, the tranny uses less power, and a '91 TPI was rated at 230 or 240 hp something like that. That's good enough for a mid 14 second run on a good launch. That'll take down almost everything on the street. I'm not saying it's blindingly fast, but don't say it's slow until you know what you're talking about.

Uhh..... yeah, actually it does. Considering that the auto 305's got the peanut cam which only gave them 190 horse while the 305 5 speed got pretty much the same cam as the 350 and produced 10 less horsepower than the 350, or approximately 220-230 horse as opposed to 190. Not to mention that most 305 5 speeds had the G92 option which gave nice street gearing in the rear also.

Basically we are talking a STOCK difference of a at least second or so in E.t. Go do your homework before you say something stupid!

I am calm. I'm having fun. You can't let yourself get irritated. You just have to make the best of a bad situation. It MAY get a little nasty...you may wanna...

By the way, I don't mean to post ***** or anything, but that email was on iraqman's profile. Maybe I spoke a little harsh up at the top with the cursing. I'm trying to stop doing that so much. But it did make me mad at first. See, if everyone can take this as a joke, they won't do it. They do it to **** you off, but if you take it as entertainment, you know they will stop. They don't want to entertain..."us". You know, the people that they are on the opposite side of. These types consider themselves nonconformists. Well, there seems to be alot of you nonconformists. You dress and talk alike and you listen to rap, r&b, and/or rap/rock. Conformists.

I do what I do. I am neither inspired or influenced by anyone. I am my own. It's people like the fake member above that are using so much prejudice. And trying to cause trouble. tisk tisk. I'm still laughing at you.

Thanks, Inwo. Do you maderators happen to know who that individual was just by them signing up to the board? I think I know who it is, but the reason I ask is because I am going to be setting up my own site in a few months. I need as much info as I can get. I pmed Brad, but I haven't gottem a reply yet. I must have said something wrong. Anyway, thanks again. Cheers.

Well to try and savalge this post....

In 73 there was two 350's. The 190hp or 250hp (L82) 350's. If you're swapping the cam before you race him you stand a very good chance at beating him.

Yeah...I saw that picture and I had to have it. You know they could actually make an "Owned!" picture where...well, I guess I shouldn't say.

Anyway. From what I can tell, engines got weaker and weaker until maybe 1980. So from that idea and the fact that a 76 vette has 185 hp...I would have to wager that the 73 is stronger. So I'm agreeing with iroc22.

Well, i know for a fact that the '73 Camaro Z28's L82 engines had 245hp, so i would imagine that the vette is probably about 240-260hp if its an L82... the other was an L48 (like the 350 in my Camaro) which had 190hp.

So you are either dealing with 190hp or 250hp.

In 1973 and 1974 the LS4 engine was still an option. This was a 454ci engine putting out around 270 horses. The majority of the 1973 and 1974 Vettes came with the 190 horse 350 so chances are that's what he's got.

Hey, instead of guessing hp numbers for the L82 why don't you just read my post above?

My '79 Vette has the 4 speed and an L48 350. 190hp. Pretty quick, but then again, I've never ridden in a 305 TPI car before.
