this is the only performance info I could find on the RX2's 12A rotary,

"97PS/6500 134Nm/4000"

So if someone knows what the conversion from PS (?) to HP, there you go.

the torque comes out to 98 ft-lbs for a stocker, and I guarantee that one isn't putting out much more. so uh, you tell me which one you think is going to win.

You're toast. Better luck next time. Maybe you should pick on something more your speed like a Cavalier or something.

As mentioned in the modifications for the RX-2, there has been an engine swap. The car uses a S5 13bt which is a series 5 1.3 litre turbocharged engine. Definately not the stock one.

The S5 13bt was capable of 200 HP (141 kW)... now keep in mind that was in bone stock form. That engine has been ported. A rotary cannot be bored out so it gets ported which allows better breathing and more fuel hence the upgraded fuel injectors.

That engine also uses an upgraded turbo as well as front mount intercooling. That allows a potentially higher boost level and more power. An aftermarket ECU controls the whole thing and if tuned well it is easily making in excess of 225 HP.

It does not look like your car has any modifications other than the hood, correct me if I am wrong but even if you did you would be hard pressed to beat this light RX-2 anyways.

What is an RX2? Even if it makes 200hp what does its powerband look like and how much does it weigh?

Edge it out? with what that RX-2 is packing, he's not even going to have a chance. You'll win if his transmission falls out onto the ground, well maybe, it depends when.

Shifty: If I had any money, I'd bet $50 that the RX-2 weighs less than my car did. My car weighed 2550 with me in it.

Now you got two big gapping holes in your hood, but your not running an open air element yet? Why go though the trouble of cutting the holes and welding the scoops on? If his motor is producing over 200 hp and looks like the car weighs 2500-2700 lbs he has you beat. I kinda like the rx2 in a "you dont see those every day kinda way." that thing might give a srt-4 a tough time if hes got the motor done right.

An RX-2 weighs in at about 2,255 pounds or 1,025 Kg. The powerband is variable dependant on the type of port job and the forced induction used. I would say that the thick of his powerband runs from 2.6K RPM all the way up to the 8K RPM redline. A rotary engine build more power the higher the RPMs go to a point. This is especially true with forced induction setup.

Also, do not count on the transmission taking a dump either. The ribbed turbo II transmissions are beastly.

Hey, well that is my rx-2 posted upt here. Quick specs, car has been gutted, light weight bucket seats 15lbs each are replacine the 120lbs stockers. The car should weigh in alittle under 2000 lbs.

Car should be putting out about 300rwhp at about 10-12psi and should be in the low 12s high 11s.

And thank you guys for telling him what I told him myself.. I'm going to make him cry.

Not some of the brightest words coming from somebody already on probation..

I gotta say that RX-2 is one of the most hideous things I've ever seen, but that is AWESOME. My friends and I were gonna hope to get about 300rwhp in a ~2100lb car as well (an '88 Chevy Nova...probably even worse looking than that RX2). Perfect sleeper car I'd say.

Hey Psycho kid, you'll still beat him. Now with that, bet him your computer, and race him. That way we don't have to read any of your posts anymore

YOu will race anything that challenges you? If I recall correctly you challenged me.. you also chalenged me in a dogde ram that you don't even own. Seems like maybe your trying to compensate for something?

And you don't plan on keeping the 305? Well I sure hope you have a machanic do the swap for you. You keep calling me to help you fix your car now with the stock enegine.. can't imagine one with carbs, you will be going carbs right? Or at least dirrect port EFI.

Psycho, even though ya up in Torrance .. it's still California ... and the Governator has messed up the already harsh emission laws. Thing is... you'll have to smog the car every now and then. Learn the tuning .. ECM etc .. .heck learn about heads cams exhaust port and polish ... mostly upper part of the engine.. before ya go 383 .. learn the stock engine before ya try something new

Couple beers and 3am is the reason for my spelling misconception. Forgive me...lol!

When I bought my car, I was weary about the stripe. But I've had so many people compliment it, that I think I'll keep it in my next paint design. It's original and I haven't seen it on another 3rdgen, thanks duron
