beating **** rockets makes me happy

I'm driving home by myself tonight, and i'm in the middle lane going about 70.... suddenly, a toyota supra drives by me. I wouldn't have noticed it, but i heard the fart pipe, which caught my attention. it kind of sounds like a really big bee buzzing in your ear. he turns off in front of me, not cutting me off, but enough to really get my attention.... so i turn into the leftest most lane, and i start to go about the same pace as him...... then, i hear his fart pipe really start to make some noise.... but he wasn't really going anywhere.... made me laugh... lol...... anyways, i pushed the pedal down as hard as i could.... and only a little distance later, i coudlnt' even see his headlights anymore. later on when i needed to take my exit, he eventually caught up, and drove by giving me the middle finger..... some people...

A Firebird with a 305 beating a turbo Supra....

If it were an n/a version of the same car then it's entirely possible. Depends on year though... Of course then again he might not have even known he was supposed to be racing

Yeah, but even the n/a ones--1987 at least--are high 15 second cars. He should have been going somewhere and it should have been competition. Are you sure it wasn't a Celica? Was it a really old Supra? Maybe something horrible wrong with his car...

Well it's a **** rocket because he said he had a huge fart pipe on it, and it clearly couldn't back up what it was trying to dish out.

I've raced an 80's N/A Supra before with my 305 and I can say I wasn't too impressed.

There's about 4 inches difference between an old Celica and a Supra like that. Those cars w/o a transplate are a POS. So the uncle ben reference works here. BTW, a flyby with a finger more than merits any derision this guy gets.

It was most likely a n/a Supra. On the highway, a Supra with exhaust going 70+, you would eassily hear his BOV or the whine of turbo.

One thing I do is partially pity the Supra owner(turbo) who modifies his car, and the only thing his exhaust can look like is fart cannon, but his car can run 14's. Albeit the exhaust sounds deeper on a turbo then a normal fart can, some domestic owners are too ingnorant to realize the fact that is what actual exhaust is on some imports. Kid at school has a 240SX, I think 97 or so, he recently put on an HKS full cat-back exhaust, his muffler looks like a fart can. He takes offense to people calling it a ***** mod because that is the only thing is car can get, and the fact that he has a natural hate for ricers becuase he says they give import owners like him(also had a 300ZX TT) a bad name.

I don't see where the guy wrote that it was a turbo Supra. He said a Toyota Supra so I don't know what everyone is going crazy about saying BS on him for. He also stated later it was an older Supra. Not the one most of you guys seem to be thinking of. The 80s n/a Supras were slow. I have a friend that has one and even she said she can't stand how slow it is sometimes. I believe that he beat the car and the fact that it had a coffee can exhaust and the driver did the middle finger driveby makes it more than appropiate for him to call it a r!ce rocket.

Well, the "r*ce" term can apply here. What would you call a 97 v6 Mustang with a bunch of stickers and a wing? Besides, "a joke". You can't deny that it is a clowned out vehicle- r*ced out by the more popular term, even though it could be fast with a v8 and mods.

The term applies to what something is- not what it could be. An 89 Civic could not get this label from the factory, could it? But give it to the average 16 year old with the backward upside down visor, baggy pants, playing rap or rap-rock and you have.....

The 86-92 style naturally aspirated Supra, which was probably what he raced, are particularly slow. They were heavy and only made 190hp. With an automatic, they were probably a low 16 second car(even with the fart can). The turbo 5spd models back then (230hp) were only good for low 15's.

Good kill.

Geez, only low 15's . Good race man. I hate when cars like that try and play with you. It makes me mad because they are trying to show off to you, not race you. They see someone about their age and they try to impress you. Usually they do race, but it is not because of your car, but your age. They don't know what a Camaro or Firebird is. It may "look fast" to them or sound fast but they don't know. They just want to look "cool" to their friend or girlfriend sitting shotgun. If they knew what we were driving, then they would respect us and realize they have no chance. They would learn real fast not to mess with us, becacue instead of making temselves look better, we would just embarass them. Don't get me wrong, I have a lot of respect for import tuners and for Supras in general. When it comes to any Supra with some jerk kid in it though, it has to be tagged as a r!cer.
