can i beat an eclipse?

i raced my friend who has a pontiac gtp to about 50-60 and i was surprisingly behind him by only a car length. any idea on how i will do against one of the newer eclipses? and possibly a guess on 1/4 mile times?

I have beat a GSX . 95 5spd to be exact. The kid couldn't drive so wasnt that good of a win, but I still won. If it would have been a better driver I would have to pull more on him out of the hole.

I used to drive an 91 eclipse N/A

that thing was slower then a constipated turd

raced a 2g once on t he freeway

all I did was downshift into 4th (which was just into my powerband... should have been in thirdg for the speeds we were pulling) and I walked him every time (though I think this one was an auto).

the cars are nothing special N/A get a turbo version to race though and you will prolly lose in a stock TBI setup

2g 95+ eclipses have a very small pos turbo, 1g 90-94 have a bigger turbo that really makes a difference, I beat a couple new z28's but lost to a 97 cobra from a roll, but i wont be driving my eclipse anymore, used cheap gas and detonated last night and blew the headgasket looks like its f-Body time...

That sucks about your eclipse TBird, but at least you can now get a real car. HAHA j/k. My mom, my boss, and one of my best friends drive eclipses. I tease them all the time but they tease me just as much.

no worries about beating an Eclipse, I beat my friend's '99 or 2000 5-spd RS easily with my stock '86 LG4 auto.

heres a funny story, not a newer eclipse, but like a 95 or so...
its an rs... nothing special no mods...
my dad is driving the family hauler... dodge intrepid 93 i think... i dunno... it has like a 3.3 or something of the sorts... some1 please correct me on that...
don't know the power on it either...
all i know... is that
My dad, my mom in the passenger, my sis, me and one of my best friends at the time were all in the car, with a brand new computer in the trunk

at a roll of 30 they both floor it... do u believe... that the family tanker took him?
well it was all gain...

the guy must have really sucked at racing to lose at a car hauling more people than a refugee deporting truck(no pun intended)

anyways... try it... u win... congrats... u lose... start modding...

At the track, I watched those new Eclipses run 16's all day. Not sure if they had any mods or not.
