Z vs 3.4

ive got an 83 Z28 (305 4bbl, 5 speed, 2:73) that runs high 16's. My girlfriend wants to race me in her 94 camaro (autotrans, 3.4 V6). Who would win, and what kind of times would she turn at the strip(1/4 mile)?

Hmmm...that's a close one. If you get a good lauch out of the 'ole T-5, you might take her. I'm pretty sure they run somewhere in the mid to high 16 range. And if all else fails, like 86Camaro said, break out the Nova, nice car btw.

she ended up beating me from a stop. I guess my bald *** tires didnt help me. We raced from a 20mph roll and i won by about half a carlength. Still, props to the V6

That is a tough loss. My freind has the 94 auto 3.4 base model. That thing is soo slow. I raced him with my mom's 90 Aerostar, I took him from both a stop and a 40 mph roll.

Your rear end gears will be a problem against her.

Now if you take out the Nova it won't be a problem.

Then your friend can not drive... well I've never driven a 3.4 auto. High 15's are easy to achieve in a 3.4, may sound slow but hell its a tiny *** motor.

Don't feel bad man, my g/f did the same thing to me in my 305TBI a few months ago. Details on this post here.
