90's trbo'd mr2 VS. me w/o mods

jus thought i would post another story on here that i jus member'd. this was about 6 months ago, before any mods. me and a friend from work were on the highway, cruisin home, and this beatup lookin mr2 with exhaust comes flyin up on me, then slows down right as he gets beside me.

so i get kinda excited and nail it from about 55mph, and put about a car on him, then i see him start creepin up, and by 95, he walks right past me. i couldnt believe it so i let off, and we both slow down to about 40 or so (on the highway), then i hear him jump on it, so i punch it and this time i don't pull on him at all, he jus walks by me again. as he passes i look over and see a digi turbo cntrollr on hiz dash and hes laughin a bit.

about 2 weeks later, i stop by another friendz house and when i pull into the parkin spot, my friend (that was with me when i raced the mr2), sees another white mr2 and makes some comment. so we look closer at the car and realize that it IS the car i raced on the highway. after telling my friend that lives in the apartments where the mr2 is, he tells me that it is his neighbors car and he has greddy exhaust, turbo, intercooler, and a cam. so once i get my tranny in, i wanna race this guy again. hopefully ill be able to post the results.

I don't see any of those mods adding any major HP. There is absolutely NO need for a 58MM TB on a stock L98...it's overkill and will not gain you any HP. Underdrive pulleys are a few HP along with just a muffler. You're still toast dude...

oh i guess i forgot to mention..
when i raced him, my car hadn't had a tuneup in 3 years (it had been sitting), and my tranny was slippin 2-3 and 3-4. ive also done alot of free mods that i dun have in my sig yet (ie; gutted airbox, free ram air, k&n's, 8.5mm wires, and msd plugs). he didn't beat me by much, i think i'll take em.

the 58mm throttle body isnt going on till my headers, cam, plenum, slp runners, and new intake manifold goes on.

That might change things then...a 58MM TB is still too big even with a cam intake and other stuff

yah but we got the 48mm TWIN throttlebody.

i am pretty pissed at airborn express. I got my tranny today, and somehow they lost the torque converter. it was strapped on the front of the bellhousing, and when it arrived, the strap was broken!!!!

why cant things ever go right for me!?

guess it'll be a while longer before i can get the roc back on the road.

Nic, what kinda lift are you using in your Mustang? I don't know much about them but I was looking at some part lists and I saw some 1.8 or 1.9 rockers and my jaw just dropped.
