Ran a '00GT with the RS

And g0d damn it was a lot closer than I thought it was gonna be!
We caught a light, and I power braked up 1000rpm. Light turns green and I jump a half car on him and pull another half car through first. He chirps second and falls back just slightly more but that was it! We stayed like that up to about 80mph where I let off. Next was from a 40mph roll, he jumped me a fender until my tranny downshifted(shoulda kept it in second) where I evened it up. We stayed door to door up to 100mph when we had to let off.

The only thing I know for sure the GT had was exhaust of some kind. That car is crazy loud but sounds soooo damn good. I've got to talk to the guy and find out what he has. The RS should've walked all over that guy if all he had was exhaust!

Ya I would say he had something done. Do you have any track times for it? It might not be running right if all he had was exhaust. Anyway nice kill.

I bought this car from a buddy of mine(and board member). He ran 12.88 at 106 and I've personlly seen it run a 13.1 at the same mph. He beat the hell out of my Iroc on that run.

I haven't ran this car at the track yet, so it could just be driver error on my part. But come to think of it, I've seen this same GT run a cammed LT1 T/A with out fading and that T/A supposed to run high 12's.

Well, I talked to the guy today and now I don't feel so bad about the race. He said he's got long tubes, off road H-pipe, Flowmasters, a CAI, 2800 stall converter, and 4.10's. Suprised the hell out of that its an automatic. He said he ran 13.6 at 100 mph before the long tubes and thinks it'll trap around 103mph now.

Yeah, I've really been wanting to race some of the new mustangs. Heck, I havnt raced any yet. My car is stock though and I jsut changed out the 700r4 for a t-5. This kid I know who never had a mustang of his own is always talking crap. He finally got one (I think a 96 or 97 5-speed) and brought it by my house while I was working on my trans. He's like "lets line em up when you get done" and then "lets go cruisin man, oh wait, your cars on jacks, sorry." I'd really like to shut his mouth, but can it be done with a stock 305 tpi 5-speed. LEt me know if you can, or maybe some mods that should at least keep me by his door. Thanks
