rsx?! wtf

Alright, I posted my loss to a 98 stang yesterday and today I raced my friend with an rsx type-s. Same spot same situation as the stang. It was like I relived the stang experience. We were even through first (he started w/ a rev at 3500 and I did the whole take your foot of the brake then push the gas not to spin tire then floored it). As soon as my car chirped into second I built up a car length lead. He didn't catch me until about 95 mph (which means we'd probably have the same quarter mile) then he passed me. I told him I want a rematch after I boost my timing a bit. Think that'll make any difference? (This race was also w/o the aluminum driveshaft not that it makes a difference).

Whats your timing set at now?

I don't know any specs about the aluminum driveshaft, but any amount of weight you take out of the driveline or rotating assembly on the engine will free up HP.

When i advanced the timing on my car to 12* BTDC it really woke up the top end. Usually when i would floor it at 40mph it barely moved, now it picks up good. I think its definately worth the effort.

No mods for the rsx and my timing is set at 6* right now. Its set so low because with my chip there is spark knock. If I bump the timing up I'm going to have to run octane booster.

With the shift kit in there it shifts really nice and firm, I can get a chirp without flooring it.
