Fuc*in cops

Ok, heres the deal. there is an intersection in my town where 2 2lane highways intersect east/west-north/south. anyway, im facing east, about to turn south. I come to a complete stop. I see that the roadway is clear of traffic. I floored my pickup, which created a bunch of noise with the headers and glasspacks obviously. Anyway, my tires chirrped when the old bee-atch shifted into second (gotta love the shift kit), and i get ****in pulled over by the good ole HP, and get a ticket that says drag racing/exhibition driving, and i get 3 points and a 50 buck fine. The cop didnt believe me, but a friend of mine was riding with me, and can clearly back it up. by the way, im 16, and i live in the hp invested state of north dakota. should i try and fight this, or what?

thanks

Here in WA state if its your first offence you can opt to have it 'defered' (sp?). Basically you pay the court fee and go to a class and it is taken off your record and nothing to worry about with insurance. Not sure if its the same in your state. Just look into your options, i say if you can fight it and get away with it more power to ya! Good luck man.

when i floored it, i only accelerated up to 25, which is the posted speed limit. I know this is f*ing "rapid acceleration" or whatever the popo calls it, but it is a chicken**** ticket.

and in response to your 2 cents - i took a defensive driving class in july in order to lower my insurance, and it says i could get 3 points back on my license by taking the class if i had lost any. Will those points carry over to this violation?

hint.

if you wanna drive fast, do it quietly. i also learned that the hard way. i have over 24 traffic tickets in various states.

i can tell you first hand. unless you can convince the judge that it was not you making the noise, but someone else, you get the ticket.

inotherwords, you have to lie.

if theres one other thing ive learned. DONT LIE.

dont argue, dont get upset, be polite, dress nice, talk to the judge, tell him you didnt realize that was wrong, and that you will to your best to refain from spinning the tires.... and you will either get a warning or a lower fine..........

Well, you;re not going to get off, you did it fer sure... Here in WA state, you can opt to go to court and explain yourself, you'll still get the ticket, but the judge may lower the fine, and or the penaltys.

Tell him you were driving safe, youre friend just said your truck was gutless, you weren't trying to speed, or or drive dangerously, you just wanted to take off fast to show off, perhaps he'll lower the fine, and or penalty if you tell him the truth (i figure that's kinda the situation anyways)...what ever you do, be honest and admit what you did, you;ll get more respect out of the system that way.

Good luck..

dude, I did this in the IROC last summer. All I did was write a note to the judge and told him I had just put in a new clutch and it was very touchy. But, hahaha, I was doing donuts in the middle of the street. I got, unsafe start, excessive noise, and wreckless driving. The judge let me off for all of it. Dude, fight it hardcore and tell the judge your tranny just got rebuilt and your not used to it shifting yet.

Well like I said, I still havent gotten used to the trans go shift kit, and how it shifts a ton harder than it did before.

There you go. You just recently had your transmission modified and you aren't used to it. Say you're tires were worn or cold and it chirped when you shifted. It's not like you were peeling out from a stop or anything.

Highway racing is usually the same offense and exhibition of speed right? You just got the one ticket? If there weren't any cars around you that just makes it harder for them to prove you did something wrong. Remember, you're innocent until proven guilty BEYOND ALL RESONABLE DOUBT. Fight it. Good luck.

Yea, **** the police for doing their job!

You broke the law, you got caught doing it. Be a man, take responsibility for your actions, and drive more responsibly from now on if you don't want to get caught again.

Yeah... it's only 50 bucks... you should know better than to floor it like that. As far as the cop is concerned you could be likely to go much faster than 25 MPH. You don't want a ticket, don't fool around like that.

Did you see the cop at all? If he heard you (I know you have glasspacks and i'm sure the tire squeal was loud) he should have been pretty close right? Also, just tell the judge that your car is just very loud (needs a tune up? ) , and that you weren't flooring it.

Sorry Nic I had to edit your quote to get rid of the ****.

I'll second that. I have had 2 speeding tickets in the last year, one for 45 in a 25 (which I fought and got reduced, because I honestly didn't know I was going that fast, "beleive it or not"), and a second when I was doing 94 in a 55 and the cop knocked it down to 84 in a 55 to save my license, didn't fight that for a second (I knew it was wrong).

Just quite your Bitchin' and pay it.

Later, Garrett

the cop was sitting north west of where I was across from the highway, and it is a small lot that is a farm machinery dealer, and there are tractors and combines lined up facing me, so i dont know if he exactly saw me, or heard me.

The same exact thing happened to me here in california. I explained it to the cop, and that my engine and rear end were new and it was the first time I had driven the car..and he let me go. He followed me for about a mile before he pulled me over, and it was so late that I thought it was some truck tailgating me. The "I'm taking my girlfriend home and I'm too tired to be driving" thing is probably what made him have some sympathy, I guess. That flashlight sure is bright at 2am.

Dude, you're from the freakin' Dakotas. When did they become ghetto? I must have missed this, but it doesn't matter what you think because you displayed driving that the officer saw as reckless and you're young. So he's not going to just let you off on that.

That's life.

Say your tires are balding, cus its old, and you couldn't get traction, so the tires slipped and made a noise. Say you also did not go over the speed limit and had no intention of racing your "old pickup truck". Skip out on the ghetto talk in front of the judge. assuming you really are from the ghetto there, work on some mroe regular language in front of the judge.

dont bother trying to fight it, the judge will get pissed cuz ur wasting his time. instead work on talking your way out of the ticket in the first place.
say ur foot slipped or be honest and say u had the tranny rebuilt, you havent had much of a chance to see what its like and u figure since it was late and no one was around u would not be putting others at danger.
some tickets u just can never get out of.
