305tbi vs a couple
my brother has a 2003 explorer v6, keeps taunting me to race. its 100% stock.
the girl next door has a ***** bf who drives a toyota corolla, he has a loud fart can he revs all day and night. other than that he has about 900hp of stickers and false badging.
i have a 305 tbi k&N and a rebuilt tranny w/shift kit. otherwise stock.
the only reason i ask these is because i take no cars for granted with my engine. thanks in advance.

The explorer is nothing, I can take my moms V8 expedition all day with my 305 TBI. What year is the corolla? Not sure it really matters I don't think any of them are fast. My friend had a late 90's one that couldn't even beat my escort.

Not sure on about the explorer. I have driven a new V6 explorer and although it was quick off the line i think you will take it. My Girlfriend drives a 2001 corolla and it is seriously the slowest thing in the world. You will murder it. My old 115 horse cavy would beat it.

I know my parents just bought a camrey, they had a choice of a 145hp V4 or a 185hp V6, they get the 6 but I havn't driven it. I'm thinking if she has the 6 in there she might beat you just because her car is lighter and there is less wear on her engine then yours, although you will probably take her off the line. I don't think ive ever been beaten off the line from an import, keeping in mind that I havn't raced any imports that are acually supposed to be fast.
I drove my Step Dad's 2000 Corolla for about 2 months before I bought my Camaro over a year ago and that thing was UNGODLY slow. It peeled the tires, once. I was making a left turn in the rain!
I swear you had to redline it everytime you pulled out in traffic. Well did...Ugh that was a major adjustment as my first car was an Intrepid with the 3.5 V6 DOHC motor (which wasn't that fast) but the corolla had to have like 100lb-ft of torque, no more.
If you lose to either of them, you better blow a headgasket mid-race. Make sure the corolla doesn't have Nitrous...thats your only worry.

i figured i would crush the corolla, even if he had a couple of basic mods. i think he knows it to cuz he only revs his engine when he doesnt see me around, once i am outside he stops.
if the explorer was a v8 i wouldnt mess with it but since its v6 and heavy as hell, i figure i might have a goood shot.

well if you can roast your tires without trying then you can beat a 2 wd exploder but the 4wd may take you. awd get great off the line traction

Been done, turns out my friends Toyota pickup was faster than my camaro in the sand
Then he had to pull me out of the sand, but it was fun for the couple minutes it lasted.
