last thursday headed out w/ a friend in a talon to see a movie after work. Pulled up to a red light next to him and he started revin. Coast was clear, we punched it at the green. I spun my tires at the line but after that he was history. When i let off at 50 he was about 3 car lengths back. I've had my car for about 2 weeks its all stock LG4, his was a 4 cyclinder manuel w/ a cold air intake. Maybe now he'll shut up about racing me

The 95-99 2.0's are mid 16 cars with 5spd. With h/i/e athey are in the high 15's. Some guys have gotten in the mid 15's with bolt ons suprisingly. My friend has a 95 Eclipse GS non-turbo . He put a Howell rebuild kit (8.8:1 JE pistons, Eagle rods, etc), HRC STage III+ turbo kit with Super 16G turbo, full exhaust, etc. He ran a 13.66@115.9 with it and boost spiking to 13psi! He didn't have the limited slip in at the time, so he was spinning in 3rd gear down the track. Fast car..but alot of $$$ in it.

Yea the n/a 2gs have almost the same engine as the neon, nothing that good. It's not worth swapping to a 4g63 in the end either, and aftermarket turbo kits get you the results you described.

Yep. The Neons are VERY fast with turbo kits, but it's like throwing a 5.0 in Pinto, it's still a Pinto! I like the turbo DSM's, fast cars and easy to mod. Hard to beat factory turbo/sc'ed cars!

I hear that. I have trouble with some N/A ones too, but not for long

I watched a mid 90's talon get killed by a taxi in front of my apartment last night. The talon gave the taxi a few revs ( ) and then they went from a light. The taxi spun all through first, but the talon got killed by like 2 cars to the next light. It was probably about an 1/8th mile to the next light, and the taxi definitely won. Who races a Philly taxi though?
