HAHA, I never woulda thought my dad's car could beat a camaro... well today when I got off of work, I was goin to pick my sister up from the high school when I hit a red light... now this is one of those lights where the right lane ends (actually turns into a right turn only lane) about maaybe an 1/8 mile from the light (for those in Indy, 73rd and Keystone). Well anyways, I was in the middle lane on a 3-lane road and I just pulled up to the light as it was yellow. So Im sittin there trying to find some good music on the radio, and I look up and there's a teal green Camaro in the lane to the right of me, revvin up the V8, scootin forward, reallly tryin to race/pass me. Now I m rollin my dad's van, a 97 Chevy Luxury Van. I think it's called an EXpress or 1500 something, but it has the ChooChoo conversion, high top, TV VCR side skirts, etc...real nice family van...now, I know that it has a 5.7 Vortec motor, and sure tows the pontoon like it aint even there, so I know it's got some *****. Well, I look over and see this dude smirkin at me like he's about to cut me up or something and I decide to have a little fun. I pull up and bounce the brakes a little, just f***in with him and the light turns green. Well, you could tell he was pressin on the gas and the brakes, (cause his car was sittin a little funny leanin towards the right), and he lets all loose and spins a liiitle off the line while I smash it...Now Im rollin a 5000 pound Luxovan and Im not expecting to beat him, but he hooks up, pulls about 3 feet past me front bumper, and I amazingly start to pull, now I get to the second gear and he starts catchin back up, but that big van pulls about 10 feet on him by the time I hit 70 and drop into the 3rd gear and he's about a car or two back. So his lane ends and he's still tryin to pass me so he gets in the far left lane and we go up to a hundred where my gov'ner kicks in and he's still a couple cars back. He passes me and cuts RIGHT in front of me, damn near runs me off the road and keeps on goin....WELL, we catch the next light together and I ask him what he's got under there...turns out he's driving his girlfriends car, a 91 RS with a "Built 350 Tbi, stock cept a k an N filter and a flowmaster", she says and they ask me how much nos I have I was like nawws , I aint got no d**n naws, youre cars just slow!!! that pissed em off and the tried to race me again and I beat em with the same results when the light turned HAHA I was laughin all the way to the high school...NEVER thought my dad's van would beat a "built 350 .......anyways, sorry the posts so long, I just had to tell ya'll, there's some dumbass in Indy ridin around in a teal camaro that thinks his cars the sh*t...and it aint...Sooooo, anybody on here know anything about what them big luxo vans run, maybe 17/18sec 1/4's well anyways its faster the a 350 LO3 (whatever that's called) so all yall runnin LO3's, watch out for them luxo vans, they can whoop ya

I used to drive one of those for work, it was lightly armoured on top of everything , bullet proof glass and steel plating and we used to race people. It is so funny when you see the look on there face when they get took out by a big a$$ van!!! I miss Old Blue ( the van ) damn company GAVE it away because they didnt wanna spend $2000 to fix it???? It was a 75,000 van!!! All the racing and weight killed the tranny 2 or 3 times!!!!!

 

Wow, that van weighs more than 5000lbs, my Jeep is right up near 5000 lbs, and doesnt have TVs, or isnt even half the size of the van (just a little FYI).

I love racing people in the truck, I have taken out a few imports, and a Mont Carlo. Lately it seems I have done more off roaing in the car (damn muddy fields) and more racing in the truck !

 

yeah now that I think about it some more, that 'built 350' is either missin a few spark plugs or its a stocker 305. but then what the huge KN sticker adds 50 hp, right?
