i was out with my friend yesterday in my 89 slowmaro withthe 2.8 and 5-speed. we were at wal-mart and we saw this riced out crx drive past and we laughed at him. then later in the day we pulled up at a light next to the same exact crx. i stayed back and didnt drop the clutch at all but he spun his tires. anyways i got my **** kicked!!! i think its time for a v-8 swap or something. does anyone else have a horror story such as mine?

 

nothing's more horrible than having a 2.8. Unless you have a 2.5.

 

Well, it's not theoretical or street racing, but it's horrible none-the-less:

its not a horror story.

just a obvious show of ignorance on the part of the 3300+ lb car owner who thinks his car is some sort of performance car with less then 200hp.

 

Fortunately, I didn't have the luck to line up next to it but Friday night at the track, there was a Dodge Omni GLH running 11.9's @ 118. Imagine getting waxed by a 4-door Omni. Had a good run against a Shelby Daytona on slicks. I ran 13.74, he ran 14.30. You never know what to expect when you're racing a power adder vehicle. I got smoked a couple weeks back by a Dodge Ram Diesel 4X4 that ran a high 12.

 

Don't feel too bad, I got owned by a CRX with a sequential turbo setup, of course I didn't know it until he blew past me and we stopped at a gas station. CRX is the "motor swap" queen, light car, lots of available performance options...for all you know he was sporting a b16swap or somthing.

One of my closest races ever was in my 1991 LO3 firebird auto vs. a manual CRX with fartcan an probably something else. We were neck and neck until about 70 than when 3rd gear came i fell back to his gas cap. It was embarassing but still a good race.

the mpi 2.8 v6 is bad but the 2brrl is *** awfull. and heres a story for u

i was riding in my buds 1989 2.8 v6 auto trans and we where at this red light and here comes the riced out civic and it beat us or him par say it was his car and he was driving man was he pissed we had just change cars at his house from his 1978 trans am 400 big block to his v6
about a mouth latter where in his 87 trans am yea he has a lot of firebirds (3) THIS CAR HAS A 350TPI WITH FLOW-MASTERS OOOO YEA. needless to say when we saw the same car we made sure we got be side it he seemed to remember us and gave as a ur back for more look.the light turn green and the trans am fried the tires throw first and 2nd and took of like a rocket man that guy had now ideal how the car woop him so bad because he had no ideal that they where different cars there both red with grey int.

I raced a mustang with a V6 and got beat when i had the 305 TBI, that was a horror story.....

I got my revenge on that mustang, so it's all good now......I wouldn't even call the re-match a race....

I went through a green light, and he got stopped at the red.....lol

Anyhow, it was time for a V8 swap the second that V6 rolled off the factory production line......

 

wow that just sucks hope u find him again when u get a v8 to shut him up because i bet he yappin to everyone that he beat a modded V8 ,they always do...u should put a banner sticker on your winshield that says v6 power lol just messin with u

 

You'll get even once you do a swap. My car is a total different car to drive now. What makes it even better is most people look at it and think, " standard v6 firebird"

 

Haha, yea I love that the most out of my car. They see the RS badges, drum brakes, dirty car and they think easy kill. Oh that look is so priceless when you fly by them at mach 1.

 

b16 if your lucky, with even the lowliest(sp?) of b18's its a mid 13 second car, its all about power to weight ratio (and traction).

built using kit and some different high performance mods . trust me im much better at building motors then typing.

some of my post are a little hard to understand im to busy looking at the keys to see the error's. also i spent much much much more time under my c10 and my z28.

i have no problem with spelling or grammar but typing is something i have never been that good at.

i no people who are dumm as dirt but can buildd a hot-rod that would put us all in are place

I cant enjoy it if i cant understand a word you write. You use no periods, spell words completely wrong, and just make no sense at all! It's one thing to type like you describe (I do too) but seriousely stop before you post, and read it, it is horrible!

 

which honduhs never have which is why most turbo honduhs run 14s and top out at 110 MPH

Thats because you did a slightly better job. When someone has to read what you type 4 times, and put their own periods and pauses in, you need to think about slowing the typing down and making sure it is readable!

You dont have to type a novel, just make sure it can be understood. Try a little harder, or just spend an extra 2 minutes looking it over... simple minds I tell you!
