1988 TransAm(ME) VS 1990 Golf GTI

Well last night me and my buddy were out cruising when we stopped into Tim Hortons because he saw some of his friends there who were just chillin. So we pull in and park. One of my buddies friends starts getting all cocky saying "It doesn't matter what kinda car you have, if you are a good driver you will stomp anything on the road. My buddy then tells this kid to shut it and he gets all cocky saying how he be my buddy in his 1994 Golf CL. My buddy then shouts back "well why not give Adam a go in the TransAm and we will see how good of a driver you are!". I just looked at my buddy like WTF are you doing?

GTI d00d walks up to me and says "so you want some". I replied "find a nice quiet place where there is little chance of anything bad happening and we can line it up." So he mentions "lets go up to the road by my place...its deserted at this time of night. What do you say" So I said "lets do this".

So we went up there. They lined us up. 2 of the other guys who each drive hondas "ones a hatchback ones a 4 door sedan...both silver" went down using their tripometers clocking out what they felt was a quarter of a mile and parked on the side of the road and kicked on their hazzards marking the end of the run. ME and GTI guy were just sitting at the lineup. He has his music cranked and is reving the crap out of his golf where I had my stereo off and was waiting for GTI d00ds girl to drop the towl for the go.

Well finally she gets the go ahead, drops the towel. I spun a bit but damn did she launch hard. GTI dudes front end was spinning pretty bad as my buddy said. It was seriously no competition though, I took him off the line and smoked him by *** knows how many car lengths.

The guys in the hondas at the finish line were laughing cuz I came through the finish line and then it felt like 3 seconds and then the GTI came through. I basically waited for the golf to go through and then turned around and headed back to the begining of the race but the guy in the golf just kept going.

I get back and the rest of the guys were wondering where he was headed. My buddy was like MEH lets go back to timmies. Everyone there was all like "awesome kill man..you really stuck it too him" but seriously...it wasn't a kill...it was a slaughter...guys car is stock and it runs like crap. He was insane to even consider it.

Well all in all it was a fun night.

Nah I let one of the other guys take her home. She was only 15 and he is 19...I am 25.

When she was born I was 10...that makes me shudder.

Sounds like a typical street race punk.

Good job on letting him know what's up.

Not that anyone really might care, but I picked up a V6 3.0 5 speed '92 Mercury Topaz 5 speed 2 months ago (sh*t kicker) for a couple hundred bucks, did a few neat hot rodding tricks too it and I took out my cuzz'z '94 Golf "modded" V6 by a handfull. The only thing to fear is "fear" itself. I used to blast 'em in my modded 5.0 Z28 back in the day. As silly as donughts.

Is that 3.0L Topaz the XR5 series.

If so check out www.tempotopaz.com. They have a posting board dedicated to tempos and topaz's. My other car is a 2.3L Tempo.
