Ok ok ok I got a big problem here. I own a 91 Firebird which currently has a stock L05 350 (out of 90 caprice) with tbi and a T-5. I love my car even though it has some problems. The main problem is its starting to rust. My parents told me if I sell my car I can have their car which is a 90 Formula with a 305 tpi and a new auto trans. The red one is in better shape and I think I should take that one but I really do like the 5-speed. I would love to do a swap but right now I don't have the time or place. What do you guys think I should do? Should I keep the TBI 350 with the T-5 or should I go with an auto 305 TPI?

Go with the 305 tpi. Its in better shape and you can add a shift kit to the tranny later if you want to.

Now think about what you are going to be doing the next few years. Which car will do better over the course of future.

Well I love the 91 body style better..... the gfx are awesome and I love the t-5 but I just got engaged and am going to be buying a house soon so I guess I need something last will last for a few years and not need too much money. Also I know a guy with a L98 corvette that doesnt run... well it doesnt do anything but maybe I could drop that in too..... hmmmm decissions, desissions. Both cars have t-tops and cat back exhausts. I did them both. The Formula handles like a beast and already has the tpi. But the 91 is my first car even though the car is starting to rust away. The t-tops leak and I think the floor is going to rust out. Hmmmm????

Well i would go for the 1990 one then. If its in Better shape go for it. Then if you wanna do a Engine swap do it.

your car has rust. why are you even asking this sell it and go with the tpi.

then grab a v8 t-5 with the money you make from your car and do the swap
