V6 camaro vs L98!! Hahahaha LMAO, not even close dude!

87 SS montes are nice but dogs. Arent they all automatics. Weak 305 + heavy+ automatic = basset hound.

That is one car GM should have put something like a 350 in. Had the muscle looks but weak powerplant. Poor car. LOL

Yep, they only came with 305s. You could either get an LG4 or an L69 in the Monte Carlo SS.

You'll beat both cars no problem.

I think some came with the 350, so I've been told. But they only came in autos

All montes were 305 cars. That doesn't mean that somewhere in its 20 year lifespan someone didn't swap one in though.

No Montes came from the factory with a 350, but dealerships would put 350's in some and offer it as a dealer option. So it was like it came from the factory with a 350.

Are you sure about that. Sounds like a lot of work that GM wouldn't want to pay for.

Need more info than that!

What type of motors (289, 302, 331, 347, 351, 428) are in them? Trans? Rear?

A guess would say that the supercharged stang would beat you but it'ld be nice to know what else was done to it.

If the monte is still a 305 it shouldnt be a problem, i ran an 88 on the highway from about 75mph and took him bad. He was runnign an edelbrock carb, manifold headers and exhaust and he still wasnt a problem.
94 shouldnt give you a problem either, i have taken early mustangs stock and slightly modded but nothing over a 302. The supercharged stang could give you a good run, but whats the info on it?

Talked to a guy today with an '86 Monte SS and he told me that all of the Monte Carlos (as mentioned above) came with 305/200r4 stock. Not even a 700r4! Also was peg-leg (or at least his was, didn't ask if all were).

They are also full frame cars, so they weigh quite a bit more than our unibodied cars.

Need a bit more info on the Stangs, as stated.

DuronClocker where did you get the idea this car weighs more than a thirdgen? With a 355 Built Tburo350 and 3.73 Posi rear outa a 86 SS my car tiped the scales at 3350 pounds!
That is with a half tank too! Montes are dogs with the l69 but once you drop in a new motor they are so light and have such a rigid chassis that my car that ran a best of 13.67@99 almost took the wheels into the air (4 inch front runners) if hes packin a 350 id retire but if its jsut a l69 have no fear for it is a dog!

Hmmm that's what the guy told me. Can't trust what everyone says though I guess.

Though I just looked it up and you're right, they are quite a bit lighter than our f-bodies. Oh well, don't know what the guy was talkin about, my mistake.
