busting a myth - 350 versus 305

I own two camaros a 82 camaro with a 350 in it, and I also have a 82 z-28 with a 305

I am going to race them when the weather warms up, and I give the 350 a tuneup (new wires, plugs, etc.) - As I want to make sure that both motors are running good.

the specs are as follows

82 camaro w/350

3.08 rear
stock 350 4bbl (out of some caprice/impala mid70's donor car).
non computerized

other 82 camaro

3.73 rear
Stock 305 (edelbrock performer and holley carb)
non computerized

Both are autos -

Put what you think will come out ahead - I will race them when the weather gets a little warmer in a week or two -

Both cars will be running the best that I can tune them up -
The races will be ran several times, switchin drivers etc.

Anybody want to cast their votes on the outcome.

All things being equal i'm going with the 305 those gears will help get it off the line quicker. Way too many variables really, just my .02.

350 as it might have more torque... both motors have horrible low hp numbers...

but 305 has better gears.. its hard to tell

who ever is the heaviest driver will lose

EDIT and why are there 3 of these threads?

Since they are both mine - I'll admit it, they are both slugs.

however this is a test to see how bad if any a 305 suffers more than a 350 under similar situations.

Driver wieght isn't a factor since they will be raced several times and drivers will be swithced.

I'll post the individual results and also the average.
------------
I guess that there are three because the computer was running slow and I got clickhappy -

There is no test. When you have two engines that are modded the same (same cam, heads, ect) the one with the highest displacement will make more power. There is no excpetion to this rule.

There are too many variables in this to accurately predict a winner.

This thread will only inspire a flame war between people that don't understand ICE concepts so it will be shut down. Nothing personal just saving you from trolls that will bash you.
