There was no 3.8 in '93, but regardless, if it's a newer 3.8 with the mods listed you should lose.

The 3.8 comes with 200hp doesn't it? Not the 3.4...isn't the 3.4 a 160hp monster?
A 3.4? It should be close...ram him off the road if it is to close for comfort! lol j/k

he is askin if he can beat me, its an 86 FB M5, with a rebuilt 3.4/ported polished and shaved heads, cam is .440 lift and 212* at .050 lift, headers, side pipe with a dynomax cat and no muffler. Ported and polished intake manifold/plenum and TB. car has the stock 3.42 gears and i got a spec stage 2 clutch. there is no A/C or smog, windshield washer system . Royal Purple fluids in diff/trans/motor. and i got a bunch of other odds and ends, there are no options on this car, its cloth interior, manual seats and windows. The motor isnt in the car at the moment, so as of now, the 305 can beat me pushing me car

Jeez, why dont you just go race him? Instead of asking "can I win" over and over. Both of you have extremely slow cars, so who cares? If I had an LG4, I wouldnt race anybody. Its your car, your license, do what you want.

My bets on the LG4. It should have at least enough low end torque to keep ahead of the worked over 3.4 car. 5 speed or not!

ya know what i asked becuase i wanted sumtin to talk about i was curious about it and would have raced him by now if he had a motor in his car.... plus were not Roomates yet.. we are going to be roomates soon .. ok so no disrespect.... but dont disrespect me that way and so what i have an LG4.... its a right sight faster than when got it ok...it not that "extremely slow" just cause im 18 and dont have money out my @$$ to go build 4 different cars.... i m making the most out of the hand i was delt.. and if you loked at any other threads by me you would see that im not enjoying my 305... thats why i am building a 350 with the help and input from other members here......... oh and i race because i love it, not just to win

There's nothing wrong with racing a slower ride as long as you know it's slow and don't act cocky because it's an "American V8!"

Have fun, I think you'll win. You should have more torque than he does. And I know your pain of owning an LG4, as you can see in my sig I owned an 85 when I was 18 too lol.

That LG4 did one hell of a burnout if I peeled out to the right. I burned that tire till it damn near popped lol

85T/A we're in the same boat. 18 with 305's. But you're right bro, ya just gotta make do with the hand your dealt. Good luck with the 350. Make it a beast and show this pansy-*** over here what's up.

being 18 with a 305 aint all that bad. try being 18 with a 3.1 bird and all your friends have 305 birds...makes you feel real slow. not any more tho, the l98 makes short work of them now.

Or you buy a 305 car, "accidently" blow the motor and find a good reason to pick up a 400sbc for 200 bucks and make a beast.

There is nothing wrong with 305 power ! lol, I think most people on here have been in those shoes a time or two. I bought my 83 Z and it had a bone stock LG4 motor in it and I built that up first just to annoy people by losing to a 305 and because of that ol' saying "anything can happin in a street race" I beat a 427 chevelle SS. He couldn't drive well and I had been running my 305 for quite a while. I got him by half a car he was so PISSED lol. He couldn't believe that it was a 305. Just ask MW66NOVA on here he ran a 305 and got some really nice times out of it!
