Me vs 2002 Trans Am..
I raced a Trans Am today (not sure of the year but it had honey comb tailights, 4th gen). We raced up to 50 and then slowed down. I got about a half carlength ahead of him. Should this have happened given my current engine combo? Dont honey comb tailights in a 4th gen TA designate them ls1s? Im no expert on those cars but thats what I thought. If he had an lt1 that would have been more understandable. Even then, that would have been my first race against one. Would this be normal given my current engine combo? I dont know what my car runs in a 1/4th mile and I dont really even know how much horsepower I have.

Anyway a LS1 would have Killed you with your mods it could have been a V6 easy. Did it have dual exhaust or did you hear that V8 tone? It is possible to beat a LS1 to 50mph (which by the way isn't a real race) if they have a bad start.

I'm not sure what you are trying to say.

If it was a v6, then I would have easily of gotten 3-4 car lengths on it. When my secondaries open up, my car scoots. My dad owned a 2002 v6 firebird, and in no way in comparison was it any where near as fast as my car.

100% it was a v8, had the uprise spoiler, honeycomb tail lights, dual exhaust. The guy did peel out a little bit at the dig but yet so did I.

I would have raced to a higher speed but hes the one who slowed down. Yeah I didnt know much about ls1s and thats why I was confused by how my car did that against him.

The LT1 fourth gens are easy to distinguish from the LS1 fourth gens. The '98+ (LS1) all got the redesigned front fascia which was less curved and more aggressive looking than the previous models, which had a pointy-er nose and smoother hood.
Examples:
1998 Trans Am
1997 Trans Am
