Is your car stock?
If so I don't think he was racing...those things are pretty quick...
Was it the brand new sedan, or an old coupe?

Yea, the 350Z, the G35's sister car, runs mid-high 13's w/ a great trap speed, I have a hard time beleiving your relatively stock 305 could hang with him. I would have a hard time beleive my 305 would hang with him either. From a roll, I would have a hard time thinking a stock L98 car would stay with him, from a stop it would start getting interesting, depending on the lenght of the race.

I ran one on the highway from about 60 to 80 and was right there with me slowly reeling me in, but off the line I whomped it pretty good up until 65 when I shut down. This was a G35 coupe with an auto don't know if you ran a manual or not.

I know we have a forum member running mid 13's with a stone stock 350z, the G35 sports the same powertrain with some adt'l weight (300lbs) and different suspension. It would not be unreasonable to assume the G35 could achieve a high 13 when well driven, and be very quick indeed from a roll, certianly without doubt faster than a Lo3 that appears to be stock.

Here is the recent thread with our forum member's stock 350z times.

So a thirdgen member with 150 posts mentions he went 13.6 in one and they are mid 13s cars. Im not saying they wont do it, I dont follow up on them, but I never knew they were that quick. I guess the kid in his modded one that got beat by my friends stone stock Firehawk should have gone to driving lessons. His put down mid 260s to the tire and lost to a lower 13s car by a lot from a roll!

Anything can happen in a streetrace. The new RWD Nissans, the 350z, and G35, are fast, 13's a pretty regular with a good driver in the 350z. Lots of people can't drive, can't blame the car for that.

I even saw a convertable 350z run a 15.8 here at MIR consistantly.

Believe me if your going to find someone who believes a car can run a number with good driving, its me. I personally have seen more good drivers and bad drivers than most people have seen people go down the track. I just sont automatically believe the first person I hear say they run it, unless they have some 60's, trap speeds, 1/8 mile times etc...

Plenty of stock 350Z's in the 13's... here are a bunch with slips to back that up. Lots of 60' data, trap speeds, etc. http://www.dragtimes.com/Nissan--350...l?resultpage=2. Plenty of guys running off that mark too.

The point was that its highly unlikely that a stock Lo3 was running from a roll with a car that easily traps 10mph fast and is about a second faster in the quarter mile. That being said, obviously anything can happen, there are plenty of moron drivers, but beating 13 second car driven to a 15 second time doesn't mean your cars that fast, it just means that guy is that slow/can't drive.

Do you know how many times I have made that fight here and had 15 guys gang up on me because I didnt congradulate him for beating a faster car? I have taken down faster cars, and although it feels good, I KNOW my car is slower, its me that makes it faster, a lot of people dont put two and two together, especially without track times to prove or disprove all the myths!

Re: g35

25th Mustang
I am the driver of that Z...
Is it possible Lemans beat him yes..but I don't think he was flooring it...

If you go to my350Z.com in the drag section you have over 15 cars stock in the 13.6 range...some faster..I am one of them.

I also said that is my personal best..I run consistent 13.8's...

I just do not believe, unless the guy kept it in 6th and never downshifted, then the Camaro would win.....

I will aslo note I have a Z and not a G, those are a bis slower due to the backseat, and other heavy options.

Re: g35

i was at the race track the other day and there were 3 g35 there and none of them went faster than 15.20s so i could stay right next to them at least for a 1/4 mile after that then they win
