yeah my friend wants to race me this summer he has an 1992 3.8 thunderbird. my car is a 2.8 camaro. Also it will be at the track on the 1/4 mile.

his car:
-copletley stock 3.8 thunder bird,
-pretty good shape with only 70,000.
-completley stock.
-Auto

My Car:
2.8
-heads ported/polished-new hi performance springs/lock/retainers
-1.6 rockers
-delta custom grind cam
-all new 15/lbs fuel injectors
-intake mild port/polish job
-100 wet shot nitrous
-headers with true dual 2-1/4 exhaust with dyno bullets
-Automatic with b&m shift kit

another questions what abou my car vs new 05 v6 mustang and 90's v6 mustang? both basically stock

 

The 05 may give you some trouble, the 90's won't. I would race either one of them with your setup, worst thing that can happen is you lose.

 

i havent went to the track yet with this setup yet, but what do you think ill be getting in the 1/4

 

What gears do you have, and what stall?

 

stock, but i am putting in 4:10's later in the summer.

 

another thing u can do is put 944 Porsche fuel injectors in it.

 

well i just spent $200 on brand new injectors.

 

Be warned though, some of the 3.8s are supercharged and will kill a 2.8 F-car.

oh no, his isnt supersharged i checked under the hood. its just in really good shape with a nice tune up, but other than that its all stock.

 

Assuming stock stall and 3.23 gears I could see it managing low 15's high 14's. 4.10's may be overkill but hey give it a try, just make sure to mod your trans to shift into OD at WOT and spring for some stickier tires.

 

yeah thats what i was thinking, i am really trying to get into high 12's low 13's. but im not sure if my car would handle that much nitrous.

haha yeah, ive probally spent to much money on just a little bitty v6. but ive had the car since i was 15 and could never part with out it. or its little bitty motor.

 

you shouldnt be a problem

94-98 v6 stangs run mid 16s shouldnt be a problem

99-04 v6s run mid to high 15s,

05+s run low 15s

 

what about my friends 99(i think) 3000 gt, non turbo.
or an eclipse stock v6
