91 Formula vs. Newer Tiburon GT

Was hanging out with some friends last night when a kid came in a pretty new tiburon. Everyone was running thier mouth and talking about how it will beat me so I was ok lets go I guess.

Tiburon: Cold air intake, catback

Formula: Lb9 with Edelbrock catback, Cold air intake, underdrive pullies, and some msd tune up stuff.

We raced from a stop twice. The first time I jumped out and had about a car and half on him the entire race. The second time I had him by a half a car the entire race and I was slowly pulling towards the end. I spun both time pretty bad out of the hole, but I figure he did too with that 6 speed. I was suprised to be pulling slowly past 80mph with tpi. Does this sound about right, it kinda upset me being so close?

Those Tib's are pathetic, I used to work for Hyundai as a assistant parts manager for 2 years. I used to race against them in my car with the techs just for giggles during lunch. I would slaughter those damn things. The only car hyundai has that would give you a good run is an azera. they're heavy but damn they can move.

Well to add to injury I have pretty bad tires so I spin pretty bad off of the line so with traction this should not be as good of a race I assume.

If the Hyundai Genesis becomes reality, the rear wheeled drive V6 turboed version along with V8 option will be enough to wipe the floor with most of you guys.

Re: 91 Formula vs. Newer Tiburon GT

I can see that happening..........as long as their transmissions can take the abuse. You don't know how many trannies I sold at Hyundai. Evevn the weak a$$ accent trannies would implode after 60,000 miles.
