Ok me and my buddy love our cars but he thinks my car will smoke him and i think he would win but i didnt tell him that.

His car flowmaster muffler original pipes. 5.0L

My car 305 everyhting is out of my car though. all a/c and all emisions.
i have the flowmasters from the y back. no cat.
got shift kit
got rid of air cleaner and put an elderbrock on it.

so what do you guys think from a dead stop and a roll?

the mustang from a roll and a dig.unless it barely runs and even then he still might win. just dont race him and let him think your car is faster

 

ya he already thinks your faster so theres no point in racing

I also think he'll win by a significant margin. He should be running low 15's at worst... mid 14's if he's got decent gearing and can drive.

 

Dont race him especially if hes got a 5 speed. L98s even have trouble with those.

 

Ya it just the 4 speed. i thought he would win but his car dosent run very good to.

An auto gt is still going to click off high 14's maybe better depending on the gearing. Id guess your running a very low 16. Do what you want, just dont put any cash on it.

 

No i'll proubly not race him. It s funny though b/c everyone at my school thinks i have the fastest car and theirs alot of other camaros and mustangs their but their only 6 cyl but still faster than me.

 

a good driver in a 305 tpi 5sp car can proli take a 5sp stang

 

a 305tpi 5 speed can take a mustang 5.0 with 5 speed. never would of thought that. just b/c they have more power and are lighter.

 

if it was a hatch or a vert then its an even match, but a 5 speed notch is capable of mid 14s, but he should take you unless he screws something up

Well we went out on a cruze and we gun it and believe it or not i pulled away. When we got back i ask his friend in the passenger seat and he said he had it floored the hole time. So his car isent running that good or something.

He did have some extra weight... if you had no passenger.

 

Ya we both had full cars. 4 people in each car! His mustang is nice only if he would take care of it. But it was fun b/c he just kept falling behind.

A 305TPI 5speed depending on options and year could have had more power and be not much heavier than a mustang gt 5 speed from the same year. Think about a 1LE formula.
