mustang win/loss

i was driving up from houston to college station, and raced a guy in a later 2002ish stang, a couple times on 290, i was faster, we raced from a 50 roll, 60 roll on 290, i put about a car or two on him by 95 both times, then he started cruising, i though we were done racing, but he turned north on 6 so we were driving together the whole time, and then once traffic cleared out we lined up again, (60ish roll, raced to ~100, i have 3-4 cars on him, traffic was coming up fast, so i put in in 6th, hit the brakes, this fool did a ***** fly-by at 120+ and then hits his brakes, slides and almost rear ends a sedan. he lined up with me once more at 45mph, and we went to 110, he was 6+ cars back, so i was like ok i'm done racing you your way slow, and he keeps lining up with me even though he's gonna lose, i wasn't gonna waste more gas, then he drives like **** (<like drunk driving bad) all the way to C.Stat.

Also, i raced an sn95 stang on 290, had a big autometer on the dash. from a 65 roll, and i beat him to 100 by half a car, then from a 75 roll he took me by a car to 110ish

yes street racing is dangerous i know.

yeah i did after the first two pulls, but we ended up driving door to door for 2 hours on empty roads, soooo every once in a while, hmm down shift GO! everyone expects us to be slow, so hey, we are an easy kill... untill they come across a well modded 3rd gen

I love the fact that ppl dont give the thirdgens credit for power.
And then they find out the hard way!

Nice kill!

I enjoy being the underdog, to see the look some on there faces.
(cuz all thirdgens are stock 305s right..)

Re: mustang win/loss

A lot of the Mustang owners I know will go out of their way to try and pick on cars they think they can beat. I have the mentality that I would rather run a car that would be a good race, or might even possibly beat me. Much more fun being the under dog!

Lots of stang owners tell each other after they beat one third gen (probably a V6) that they can beat them all, then they spread it within themselves and they all go out and get cockey.

thing is, i built my and got my 3rd gen specifically for a street strip callout car. and i have gon 10's with a n/a 383. my ss is not built for drag racing, its a powerful street hiway/street car, and ive got lo pro tires, chrome 18's all the way around.
but the lsx note at shifting at 7k scares the **** out of mustangs on the street,
u would not believe how many back off after i put on a good low gear smoke show with a 1-2-3 powershift. lol
