Well, it's been rumored that Fieros run 14s but I would have to see it for myself.

Here is where they say that the Fiero runs 14s stock... http://www.geocities.com/WS6_Fiero/myth.html

Or, you can read the facts here...
``````````````````````````````````
Myth: The Fiero was not a quick car
Fact: The V6 Fiero accelerated from 0-30 in 2.2 seconds. Thats the same as the Lamborghini Diablo.
Myth: The Fiero was a slow car.
Fact: The best 1/4- mile time for a stock V6 Fiero is 14.7 @ 92 mph. Thats faster than the stock automatic 5.0L Mustang
Myth: The Fiero was not a high speed car.
Fact: The best top speed for a stock V6 Fiero was 135mph. Thats the same as the 85-93 Ford Mustang.
Myth: The Fiero was put together cheaply.
Fact: Pontiac purchased Ferrari 308's for handling, engineering and comparison purposes.
Myth: Pontiac stopped making the Fiero because they didnt sell.
Fact: The Fiero turned in a profit every year it was sold, including 1988.
````````````````````````````````````

Some of these facts are a little hard to believe....

P.S. When did they ever put WS6 on a Fiero?

I hate to go against the fbody but fierros are quick. Even the 4 bangers can whoop some anus!
Line em up, all that can happen is someone wins and looses.
SSC

Id love to have a fierro but Id hate to get in an accident in one.

Oh Jeez, sorry man....I just re-read your post, and you are going to do circle track racing. I need to read posts better.

As far as circle track....you could beat him, or you could be very close. But if you were in the inside lane, you would take him.

I have owned a V6 Fiero with the manual trans (mine was an 85 with the 4-speed).

Facts (not myths):

1) It was a quick car. It did run mid to high 14's.

2) When it was newer, I could get tire not only on the 1-2 upshift, but also the 2-3 upshift.

3) It was reliable. I sold it the week I turned it over 100,000 miles (the guy waited a year for me to sell it). Never had a major problem and still had the original clutch. The only problem with the car was the headlight assemblies went goofy. I never fixed it because it was already old and the repairs added up to too much when compared to the value of the car. Overall, this was the best car I have ever owned.

I now own an 88 IROC 5.7 TPI. The IROC would beat it, no question. Since I've never been in a TBI Camaro, I cannot comment. I will say that it will have to be a close race and likely come down to the drivers involved.

My attitude is race him and tell us what really happens. This will allow me to respond more intelligently the next time I see a question regarding the TBI Camaros. I'll have something to compare it to...

By the way, where can I get access to an oval track with my street car? I've done road racing courses, but never an oval.

140hp vs 170hp wont the RS have a better top end..I would think the light body of the feiro would help on take off.. but on top end would die out I put my money on the RS..a feiro runnin 14s stock lol I'd have to see that myself...I'm saying the RS would win

I won, by about 3 car lengths. To all those who say Feiro's arent quick...they are, and they corner just as good as my camaro.
The track I got to race on was Deleware Speedway outside London Ontario. They have a "king of the hill " race..you can enter whatever you want and race it around the track.

I have been to many Pontiac/Fiero gatherings. I have never seen a stock Fiero V6 run 14's, never. In fact, a couple of years a go HP Pontiac ran a shootout that had a slightly modded Fiero GT with a 3.1 V6, it barely broke into the 15's. Not flaming any Fiero owners, if any one has a 14 sec Fiero that is stock, let's see it. I'll meet ya at E-town, and then u can prove it....

Your race is going to depend on driving more so than who has more power...

86 SC, 305 LG4, TH700R4, SLP headers, 3" cat and exhaust. Mild cam 204/214, .423/.442. SLP shift kit, richmond 3.73's w/limited slip. Suspension Techniques Sway Bars, Globel West Wonderbar, Poly everything bushings, Metco LCA's, Lakewood Panhad Rod. 16" ROH, with Toyo 245's. For autocross, 16" IROC's w/bfg R1's... Nothing easy can be fun...

I don't know, but Fieros can get quite fast. Check out this one I found on Ebay a while ago. It's a weak little thing. Wink Wink.

My buddy had one of those things with a V6...A time came when he asked me to race, and I crushed him many times in a row. I run 15.0 @ 91.5 so HIS was not that fast at all. Ill bet he was lucky to be turning a 16.0 from how far he was behind me. He had a stick so it could have been his driving, but I doubt it because he seemed pretty fast...anyway I the tbi's are definetly somewhere in the 16.0 range so it would be close!

i got respect for the fieros. i think they are like the T/A's lil brother. With a couple of mods those cars could very well be damn quick. they remind me of the mr2's. i love the fieros tho. but long live the Trans Am!!!
