1:00 am and found a race
I was helping my cousin put his turbo kit on his 93 MR2 last night. We got done around 1:00am. On my way home from his house i was driving on the highway and over top my nice deep hum of an exhaust sound i hear some bumble bees behind me. There was two of them. One of them decided to ride my a$$ so i moved over to let him by. Now i was in the middle lane with one on the left and one on the right. I looked at them and they were both VW's. One was that new supercharged one(i think it is supercharged. I heard some sort of boost, maybe turbo. anyway, it was a hatchback). And the other one was a jetta. I could definitely tell this car was turbocharged, because i could hear his blow off valve. My car really doesnt pull too hard on the top end(thanks to TPI) but i figured "ok, these guys wanna race, ill give em a race". They both stomped on it so i did too. I started walking on two cars with forced induction. At about 120mph i let off and then 5 seconds later i got the ***** fly by. Those cars are a joke. I cant imagine what im gonna do to them when i get the nitrous bottle filled.

That sounds like when a turboed Golf raced my dad. His car was BONE STOCK, down to the air silencer, with him, me, and my cousin in the car. Anyway it was decent until about 55 or so and we walked him about 2 cars. Not bad for a high 14 second Stang against a modded turbo VW.

The 86-93 Mustangs, and maybe other years, had an air silencer in the fenderwell that came up to the filter on the passenger side. The reason they had it was to quiet the air coming into the intake. All they were good for is 5hp after taking them out.

so what if they run 12's on the track. The highway isnt the track. They started from a roll and that makes it all the easier but sometimes they can get the jump on you first.

Gotta watch out for some of those VW's around here though, especially with EIP right up the road...but they're usually not out running around trying to race. Was this on the Beltway? Always seem to get a little action there! Good Kill!
